thanks...sorry been so busy i havent had a chance to do much rangers related.

I read a report, it was the Post (Brooks) or a well recognized blogger, not a rumor it's a fact, that McD has no ill effects from that hit. I am sorry I read it earlier this am and can't directly link or quote.

McDonagh on for practice. Told that it wasn't shoulder that took brunt of Ovechkin hit, only his face. #mactrucktough

and from his story about game 7

McDonagh, who apparently suffered no ill effects whatsoever from the thunderous check by Ovechkin with 8:28 remaining in Sunday’s third period, wouldn’t get drawn into a tit-for-tat with No. 8 any more than his coach or his teammates.

He's been really good since game 4 against the Caps.

Not "there" yet, but very good.

Frankly there are only two blemishes on his game tonight, but they were big.

That stupid penalty where the Lightning tied the game.

And in the 3rd period he drifted all the way to Girardi's man (who was covered), hipchecked him, and left his man wide open for a clean look on Hank.

I think that guy was the forwards responsibility

O Captain our Captain...

Would like to see McDonagh lead for once. I just never get the feeling that he is a leader on this team.

Yea the first 30 min of the game he played like dog ****. He scored a huge goal but he's been too cute with the puck in his own zone, and seems to be having a hard time with the speed of the bolts. Same could be said for all of the D except maybe Staal.

McD needs to step up. He's wearing the C, he needs to start setting the tone and controlling the game like a captain is supposed to.

Like him or not..he was one of our BEST players out there. Yes he made a couple mistakes but he was busting his ass and make JUST as many good plays AND scored a goal.

He showed up tonight when it mattered like a captain. He is one of the LAST players that should get blame tonight.

IT starts and finishes with our "top 3" star players...NASH, MSL, and, YANDLE

I always had the feeling that McDonagh was awarded the captaincy because he is a young, homegrown player who is one of the best in the league at his position (or at least he was last year) and not because of his leadership abilities. Honestly, I would have been fine having 3 A's again this year and seeing if a captain emerges naturally.

Lots of good captains in the league, past and present, command the respect of their teammates, and I don't think McDonagh possesses that quality yet. Whatever he said the other night just went in one ear and out the other.

Nash did not do his part. Agreed. MSL was also invisible. I disagree on Yandle...he was fine and I'm really encouraged by his play. What more to you expect from Yandle at +2 with 2 assists? He's doing what we brought him here to do.

Yandle is part of the solution, just want him to cut out those ballerina dives.

MSL is dead weight, Nash is a no-show, gutless performer. Done with both of these 2. Glass has more of a chance to score in these upcoming games than these two shmucks. and to think these are supposed "superstars". Please.

He kept getting pushed around yesterday and losing the puck in the zone. Was happy he scored, too bad we kept allowing them to score right after.

They really messed up not giving it to Stepan, IMO.

for some reason mcd looks small and weak.

this summer i suggest he bulk up. put on some weight, add some lean muscle and get stronger

he's getting beat up. he's playing a ton of minutes and teams are targeting his shoulders.

needs to get stronger to be better.
