I'm a little concerned that these injuries keep happening at crucial times.
It's not something that can be helped, but it is something worth keeping an eye on.
These things aren't the norm until one day you turn around they're the norm.
I remember when people questioned this about Leetch after he slipped and broke that bone. He was injured badly the year prior as well. It's not something I'm really concerned with at this point.
I'm proud of our captain.
Any idea why he didn't want to talk about missing the beginning of Game 7? Trying to avoid the perception that he'd be making excuses or...?

I will not blame a player for wanting to play through an injury. That screams heart and soul...but, I will blame our coaches and Sather, ESPECIALLY Sather. When has a hurt player to that degree actually aided the Rangers? I could understand if there were a few hiccups in his game but there were times where he was really bad.
I was trying to say the same thing yesterday...I was just completely incoherent with frustration.
I love this player, but I can't fathom the kind of year he's had:
1st year as team Captain
Repeat of shoulder injury
Hanks injury
Zooks injury
Breaks foot game 4 ECF
That's a lot of stress and adversity rolled into one year.
I just remember the 1997 playoffs where Leetch injured his shoulder. In a weird way, it was almost like he was never the same after that - at age 29.
Messier left, the team went downhill, he was named captain and other factors arose. But it jus seemed like Leetch got old from that point forward.
I'm not saying that is the case here, by any stretch. But it does give you a perspective on how quickly things can change and how easy it is to look back and go "Hmm, what happened?"
He hasn't even reached his prime yet, what in the world are we worried about. He will be better than this year, heavy is the head that wears the crown. Let him grow into his captaincy, it's no small task to be captain of a big market successful team like the Rangers.
Well I believe he's in the prime of his career right now. The question to me is did he peak last year with 14G 43P in RS and 4G 17P in the PO last year.
I hope not. His skating is only rivaled by a few guys in this league named Karlsson, Keith, Doughty and a few others. I don't think he's as good with the puck as those other guys though, definitley not Karlsson and Keith.
I was surprised to see his 14G last year came on 177 shots, I thought his S% would have been abormally high, but it wasn't. He was creating offense and shooting the puck with great frequency.
He's an elite player no doubt. I hope he we haven't seem the best of him but not sure if there's another level offensively for him and not sure if we will match the season he had in 13-14 again.
This might have been already mentioned but I just noticed people are referring to McDavid as McD. He's bound to be a high profile player so I've got a feeling he's going to steal McD from the real McD
And oh yeah, definitely off-season with these worries.
For all the flack Girardi gets, McDonaghs performance last year in comparison to what he's capable of was awful. He needs to step up in a big way.
