I'm devesated, upset, and angry he is gone, over a NMC, give me a break, I hope and pray he puts up even better numbers in Tampa Bay, especially skating with a guy like Stamkos.

Anyway, it's days like this that don't make me proud to be a NY'er, oh well moving onto the Yankees now.

Thanks Cally for what you did in NY.

No player is bigger than the team.

If you switched allegiance based on a player moving out, well that's on you. I won't comment on that.

Despite having guys like Lundquist already I feel it was Callahan who really showed we had turned it around when it came to developing our own players. And I never saw a guy put it all on the line like that. Just a monster checking winger who could score. Great penalty killer. Broke many bones for us. This guy needs to be brought back eventually.

It is possible they could re-sign him in July, let him keep the C, but he has to come down on his demands. Maybe a taste of the real Free market will make him realize.

Wishful thinking but you never know.

How did your club let Callahan get away for a quarter million dollars, in exchange for a 39-year-old? This year's playoffs will be fun for you, but I think this was a bad move.

Don't ask, I hope he tears it up in Tampa, and we get him back.

Was my favorite player next to Hank. Watched him since he was on the Wolfpack during my first live professional game, and have been rooting for him ever since. Can't believe he's not a Ranger any more. It hurts even to picture him in another jersey. Good luck Callahan.

Part of me is glad he did not sign that huge contract, fans would of been on him for every bad game would of been ugly. I'm also glad he did not end up in Edmonton, lol. He has a good chance to win a cup with Tampa.

Hagelin-Richards-MSL was dominant tonight. Contrastingly, the Nash line wasn't so good.

That group that came of age after the Jagr years--Dubinsky, Callahan, Staal and Girardi breathed a lot of fresh air into our hockey team. We've not had a group like that since then nor do we appear to have one on the way anytime soon. These guys are all warriors. They're not superstars but they play the game the way it's supposed to be played--very hard but not dirty. Three of them have worn a letter for this team--one has been the captain.

This hurts. Wish it didn't have to be like this but the contract he wants is ridiculous. Maybe in the summer no one will give him 6 and he'll come back. I know there's 0% chance that happens but I can't deal with him being gone for good.

He didn't have the hype or the pedigree that prospects like Immonen, Kondratviev, Dawes, Prucha, etc. did.

He came out of nowhere after missing training camp with a knee injury in 2006-07 and was a ball of energy. He scored like a maniac on the Pack and then finally stuck.

Him and Girardi along with Avery and Mara turned that season around. Still one of my favorite seasons (second to 11-12) since the first lockout.

Loved him as a player. Have his jersey.

It would be great to have him back someday, even as an ambassador for the team.

He'll be missed.

its a shame Rangers trade guys with heart, first Dubinsky for an emotionless sometimes lazy Nash, and Cally, although St.Louis did make the Rangers more creative although they lost. they looked faster..

It stinks now but Miller and Fast are going to become the new Dubi and Cally for this team. They're already glues at the hip in Hartford.

Sather said it was a NMC that turned him off, not the money which was very close in terms. I don't like how they handled it. Not happy with this team right now. they ship out Dubi and Artie, Artie scored his 18th goal last night. I hope Cally has the same success with Tampa. Sather gives outside UFAs crazy monster deals with NMC, but our homegrown guys who bled for this team, not so much.

Yeah, how is being a fan of a baseball team in addition to the Rangers "switching allegiances"? It's sad to see Cally leave.

I meant going to focus on Spring training now for the Yankees, and put the Rangers on the back burner till I calm down. I also plan to watch the Tampa game tomorrow to see Cally's debut.

Oh lol. Was confused with the TBL avatar at first.

I was furious this morning, was a little too much. I still am a Ranger fan, but I want to see Cally succeed also so will root for his team secondary.

I should note, have been a Dolphins fan for over 25 years, yeah they actually were good back then, lol.

Wanted him traded, because it was the right move for the team to not give into his demands.

With that said, you couldn't find a classier guy to captain your team. We all know what a warrior he was for us and I was proud to call him our captain. I'm kind of glad he left the way he did, because he means too much to the fanbase to sign for big money, fail, and be vilified by us.

I'll always remember 24 fondly.
