An exemplary Ranger. Enjoyed watching him here.

Will never fault him for his contract demands - its a situation the Rangers created.

Good Luck to Cally. He was part of the first of the home grown core group that worked his way through the system. I was saddened by his negotiating stance this year, but that does not undue the heart and soul guy he was before that.

It's more of a situation that the NHL owners created. There haven't been many Rangers (maybe a handful) in my time following the team from the early 70's that gave the same effort game in and game out that Callahan did. He had some limitations as a player but he made the most of what ability he did have.

I'm really sad seeing him leave. He was a perfect NY Ranger. Forever grateful for his efforts

Sigh.... I dont like this trade... Sucks to see Cally go...

Time for me to retire yet another rangers jersey

Absolutely love Ryan Callahan

Its a very bittersweet day. Guy sacrificed and played his heart out every night. We watched him grow up in this franchise and become a captain from sheer determination and work ethic. His leadership, even headedness, toughness and balls will be missed. He's left his mark on this franchise for sure. Good luck to Cally and I hope he and his family make an absolute killing in July, im not sure theres any other player out there whos deserved it more.

Thank you for the many great moments Cally, Ranger for life.

An absolute credit to the Rangers organization. Hope we don't have to meet him in the playoffs and he kills it in his next town(s).

Good player, good leader, great example of the style of play and intensity we'd all want from a team leader.

I'll miss him.

Thanks Cally. My favorite player for the longest time. I'l still proudly rock the jersey :yo:

A Ranger fan for 48 years and Cally was my favorite Ranger ever, the type of player and person that made me proud to be a Rangers fan and wear #24's jersey in public, I'll miss you Cally, knock 'em dead!

Some final regular season stats (among Rangers wingers)

GP: 450 (16th)
G: 132 (19th)
A: 122 (25th)
P: 254 (22nd)

Really helped this franchise turn the tide with his work ethic and class. Will miss him, and tell my kids about him one day.

He's definitely the best Rangers captain other than Messier in my lifetime and I've been watching hockey for over a quarter century. This is the kind of player that makes you proud to be a Rangers fan, and had I been a Ranger, I am sure I would've been proud he's my captain.

Captain Cally was everything that fans love. No name prospect to captain of an original six franchise. Too bad he wanted too much. I'll always love him and support him. Good luck Cally

One of my favorite guys to ever put on a Rangers' uniform. Yes, we've parted with some favorites of mine over the years, but this is starting to feel like Leetch all over again. I'm gonna miss seeing him out there :(

Hearing that interview on TSN and seeing him in a TBL sweater really hit home... He will be missed a ton in his household. :shakehead

Just wanted to share this photo of the NYR yearbook that our Captain signed to my (now) 4 month daughter Callie

Such conflicting emotions for me. I thought I was completely resigned to his departure, and the majority of my brain knows that it was a necessary one given what he expected to be paid going forward. But it's still hard to take knowing that such an awesome, homegrown, heart-and-soul player is gone.

Count me among those who look forward to the day when Cally gets to come back for a cup of coffee at the end of his career.
