I think Buchnevich is still very raw. He certainly is talented and has impressive skills, but I'm more reminded of Filatov at the same age with some rough edges.

could anyone comment on if he's russia bound? did he sign a longer KHL contract or is he willing to come over? did he or his staff mention anything about that?

He has a three year contract that he signed last summer; it expires 4/30/2015.

If you look up a player on the Russian version of the KHL website, you can see when their contract expires.
For example, here's Buchnevich's profile.

I hope he's a Pavel Datsyuk or Pavel Bure and not a Pavel Brendl lol

I've read that his attitude isn't the best, so those few extra years in Russia eventually can only help his chances of career in NA.

From NHL.com:

Buchnevich, who is No. 10 on Central Scouting's list of the top European skaters, told NHL.com he will spend two more seasons in the KHL before coming to North America. He has two years remaining on his contract with Cherepovets.

The 6-1, 176-pound left-handed shot is very strong on the puck and offers a tremendous wrist shot and one-timer.

Looks like he's going to stay in Russia for another 2 years then make the transition.

Buchnevic took an illegal hit from Ryazantsev who was supended on the play.. Out with a concussion now, don't know if he'll be ready for, or in top form for the WJC... Huge blow to the offense considering Tolchinsky and Tkachyov have already been left off.

Has a concussion already been confirmed?

He's already playing. But his icetime was limited in yesterday's game, just 4:09.

He is looking really good on the world juniors. I think he has a really high upside, with the right tools, Rangers will have a stud in future.

I seriously hope so. Loved the decision to draft him, and I have high hopes for the kid. He's been impressive, I'm excited. Just hope he works out in NA.

Buchnevich, like Tarasenko, played his first KHL game being 16-year old. But unlike Tarasenko his numbers weren't that great. Untill this season. With another 2 assists today he's 3+4 after 7 games. He plays on the 1st line and on the 1st PP for his team. Very impressive start for 19-year old. Pretty comparative to what Tarasenko and Kuznetsov had at that age. But even more impressive is his playing style. Sometimes it looks like he plays against younger kids. But some of those "kids" have NHL experience.

Bucher has been pretty dominant thus far. It's still just the start of the season, but he is showing a skillset that NYR should definitely be excited for!!

Yeah, definitely. After trading their first round picks for several years in a row, getting two guys last year who could have first round talent (Duclair and Buchnevich) was pretty huge.

Hopefully Buchnevich continues to play like this and puts up some great numbers in the KHL this year, then comes over next year. If he could crack the Rangers 2015 lineup that would be pretty big

Exactly! They've been drafting extremely well in the later rounds. The potential of not only Duclair and Buchnevich, but also Graves, Skapski, and Shesterkin (there are others but just to name a few) seem to look bright, too. If he continues this surge, he'll probably make the 2015-2016 NYR squad.

His good buddy Nichushkin is playing in NHL, so I hope Buchnevich will follow him. Of course, he'll need to get into the roster first.

who are some good comparisons for this guy? Very intrigued to draft him in my keeper league.... just a typical real skilled Russian that has potential to put up huge points?

I would say Alex Semin with a hint of Rick Nash. He had a goal not to long ago where he out muscled everyone to get to the front of the net and scored five hole (which is why I mention Nash).
