Buch has had so many good chances that just haven't gone his way. At some point they are going to start going in. He looks amazing and it was a joke and still is a joke that he is somehow the player that always gets punished when the team is playing bad.

Sometimes Buch just disappears during important parts of the game...because he isn't being played. I swear he gets pushed down the lineup at random parts of the game, yet he's out there on the first PP unit. So f***ing confusing.

Curious about why you like Buch, fantasy team or just like the player?

I'd say his slapper looks like one of the best in the league. It's strong enough, but the most important thing it's very accurate. He needs to develop a lethal one-timer and then watch out the league.

Highlight reel goal tonight turning Chara around and roofing it over Rask...
Also has an assist so far too. Could’ve had another goal this period deking past Rask but McAvoy’s stick somehow got in there and stopped a sure goal. Looks dominant out there

question for people that have been following this guy since he was drafted..

It's easy to see how much skill he possesses. Some of the moves and goals he's scored in the NHL would lead you to believe he's in the same Russian mold of Kucherov/Panarin/Kuznetsov/Tarasenko. His draft +2 season with Cherepovets Severstal was phenomenal but unlike the other Russian stars his #s started to drop. Did his ice-time in the KHL drop or something? That's not typically normal with other Russians after their breakout KHL season

I don't know the exact chronology but at some point he was traded to SKA and his ice time dropped.

He got buried with SKA. They had (and still do) the best players not in NHL.

Tough for a young guy to make his mark in that sort of situation.

He wasnt getting minutes on SKA

that's strange because he lead the team offensively. Usually that would entail a bigger role, seen it with every other young KHL player. Weird

edit: I see that he's behind the best russian line with Gusev. Thought he could get 2nd line minutes with Kovalchuk

Well he played 3 seasons in the KHL post draft. 13-14 he had 18 points in 40 games. 14-15 he had 30 points in 48 games, and in 15-16 he had 29 points in 40 games before being traded to SKA and I think he got bumped down the lineup and got much less playing time and only had 8 points in 18 games. But his stats with Severstal were improving each year then SKA kind of threw him off.

13-14: Severstal .45 PPG
14-15: Severstal .63 PPG
15-16: Severstal .73PPG
15-16: SKA .44 PPG (not counting his bad numbers from playoffs)

His WJC #s were weak as well (yes he did lead russia in points) and he was generally unimpressive there.

Very impressed with what I saw last season though. AV should use him more

He played well in those two tournaments, just didn't put up incredible point totals. As you said, he lead them in points. I remember specifically the final against Canada in the 2015 tournament he was really good, and could've had a number of points. So sometimes that happens that you play well and don't score points, its not even that many games, so its very possible that it could happen. Pettersson for example didn't get many points last year for Sweden despite playing pretty well, compared to some of 2017 draft eligibles. At the WJC-18 in 2013, Buchnevich dominated, and was the second best player at that tournament after some guy named McDavid.

Gotta be honest, i never expected him to become this good. Really hopes he keeps it up.

With Chytil and Lias andersson aswell in the system i suppose Rangers future might not be as bleak as some expected.

20 points in 25 games now, had 20 in 41 last season so he reached 20 in 16 fewer games this season. Still struggling to get TOI though from the coach, had the least ES TOI yesterday in a game where we were losing pretty much the whole game, yet he had 3 ES points in the game.
