Amazing that this guy with 0 hockey IQ was top 50 in ESG over the last 2 years eh?

sure he is a very north south type of player but he has an excellent shot and is a strong skater, these 0 hockey IQ takes are just plain lazy.

He still has a way to go in being a top 6 solid option at ES and he might have a bit of Patrick Kane type of career that way which isn't the end of the world.
"Tell me you havent watched the flyers without telling me you havent watched the flyers" 😁

Tippett is one of the lower hockey IQ players the flyers have had in the last decade or so. He just makes so many wrong plays and kills cycles, rushes or PP set ups.

Yes he can contribute offense and is starting to click a little bit more with Michkov, but if he had just AVERAGE hockey IQ, he'd be a premier wing in the game considering his physical tools.

Like you said, great shot and speed, good size. He has German-made tools with a used Indonesian toolbox.

No it's all part of the lazy Michkov doesn't play with good players argument, like clebrini or Bedard do or something.

Also Indonesian toolboxes are vastly under rated around these parts right?

Tippet has the hockey IQ of a deflated football.

No, it isn’t. Tippet’s low IQ has been an issue since forever. He did some good things last year being an agent of chaos. Needs to lean into that again.

What's worse a deflated football or Indonesian toolbox?

The issue isn't his low hockey IQ its the lazy way it's being used.

I would like to see Flyers trade someone for Brad Lambert.

Then match Michkov with Lambert next year. Perhaps even Tuomaala.
I actually think Lambert and Michkov could have some chemistry. Matvei thinks the game fast and Lambert moves very fast. If they have chemistry that's a line that can hold for a decade.

Trade Konecny as well. Flyers need a complete rebuild already.

Winnipeg won't trade Lambert, and Philadelphia won't trade TK, though...

Well, you are probably right... But that's also because when did Flyers actually do a good or exciting trade, like ever?

I think they have a good (temporary) C option for him in Couts. He wins draws, defends and doesn’t want or need the puck. Michkov needs the puck and offensive zone time. Couts is a better version of what Anisimov offered Kane/Panarin. I think Michkov-Couts-Konecny can be a Top 10 line for 2nd half of the year.

Frost also needs the puck and tends to hang on to it too long. Bad fit.

Lazy way it's being used? By who, for what? You mean the Calder back-and-forth? I couldn't give less of a shit about that nonsense.

So you think every Calder candidate has the exact same opportunity and quality of linemates then right?

But then again you're probably onto something as most Calder voters will look at points and go 1-2-3 on their ballots.

No, you misunderstand. I don’t really care who wins the Calder. The back and forth about it in multiple threads is just nonsensical homerism of one sort or another, on all sides.

How can anyone have a negative thing to say?

I have a feeling like Ovechkin this will be a scenario where the "haters" migrate from Prospect Discussion to Main Board Discussion to History Discussion to justify their personal dislike for non-hockey reasons.
Yeah, it was fun to read ovechkin hate thread and find some the same names you canfind in Michkov threads.

Man this is just weak and a response to "why can't everyone agree with me" type of appeal.

My bet is that most of the "haters" that you are talking about would have Michkov #1 on their Calder ballot right now if they had one.

Heck even McDavid got heavily criticized last spring for not being good enough to win a SC FFS, although some of those fools hide after the historical performance.
