What does everyone think of this young skilled ruskie? Watching the Flyers ruin the Bruins season right now and it came to my mind....I think the only player comparison that makes sense for him is Maxim Afinogenov

Afinogenov was all dangle but terrible at finishing plays. For me Kucherov is the easiest and more accurate comparison.

Excellent point. These players who have that gift of incredible hockey iq do even better on smaller ice and faster play. Michkov is one of those rare ones.

I am actually starting to think he is the most cerebral forward i have ever watched.

I have been watching Gretzky in the 80s a lot lately. Its the same kind of feeling... except the game was slower then. Its harder to tell that Michkov is one step ahead than it is if you watch Wayne.... but i am starting to think he might actually be. Different player, mind you. Its going to be quickly executed finishes instead of puck distribution, but.... he still reminds me a little bit of playoff Briere, haha, so i dont want to get ahead of myself. Maybe he will lack too many other things to do what i think he MIGHT do.....

Briere floor, ceiling is multiple Art Rosses.

He has absolutely beautiful routes, and has an amazing understanding of timing and lanes. It's how he's so effective without having above average skating. His second goal against BOS today is the perfect example. After he enters the zone, he flares out wide so he can skate behind 19 and not be seen as he sneaks backdoor for the tap in. He knew he had the time to take the detour. His vision and gamesense are absolutely top tier, he has that Gretzky vision.

I wish Jeff Skinner would watch him play, because he's the exact opposite, with some of the most heinous routes known to man.
