Would be interesting to see how accurate Vegas was in their odds/betting last year.I'm just going by what draftkings is showing on my phone app. I'll post pics.

Nemec at 2 would've printed. Not many people had that one called.Would be interesting to see how accurate Vegas was in their odds/betting last year.
For what it's worth, the odds become a lot more telling the last few hours leading up to the draft. Wright was a heavy favorite the morning of draft day last year to go first overall (I believe something like -400/1.25 odds). As the day went on (especially with ~2 hours before draft time) Slafkovsky's odds started to drop and Wright's began to increase, going from pretty 50/50 to Slafkovsky becoming the favorite before the draft.Would be interesting to see how accurate Vegas was in their odds/betting last year.
Don't say that!Im not really a flames fan and that has much more to do with the team and being in canada than Calgary specifcally.
Feels like the most likely outcome is neither want him
He did one with the Statue of LibertyHas he done any interviews yet
I dont think I would be super happy about taking Smith, but there is a lot of worse outcomes so maybe I should beIn the end, i predict all of Carlsson, Michkov and Smith will go in the top-5. What order they go, who knows. But i think everyone outside the top-5 will be very disappointed in the outcome.
Teams in the top-5 will be happy with the outcome. Including the Habs who will take whoever is remaining.
San Jose Sharks gonna be whinin' soon about how rude Michkov was to them.
Well players from other Canadian teams including the ones from frenchland didn't try to bolt as soon as possibleIm not really a flames fan and that has much more to do with the team and being in canada than Calgary specifcally.

Well actually they often do. It’s not normal for a ship to sink this fast though because Calgary has almost all important players as UFAs. Usually teams space them out a lot better so you only lose 1 or 2 guys at the same timeWell players from other Canadian teams including the ones from frenchland didn't try to bolt as soon as possible
I think if he falls further than expected, it won't be because of logistical concerns.Does anyone think GMs might be scared of a Kaprizov situation? Remember the Wild had to get the State Department and do some really crazy things to get Kaprizov back to the States last offseason.
Why? Because he scores goals? Certainly didn't hold back Ovechkin.Interesting interview with an NHL scout:
- Scouts don’t like Michkov’s character a lot, he looks selfish on the ice.

I don't pretend to understand the mindset of a scout, but I'm reminded of the way they're portrayed in Moneyball (i realize it's a different sport) and it seems like they have a prototypical player persona in their head and start lopping off marks when these kids (I emphasize kids) don't meet their unrealistic expectations. Why? Because he scores goals? Certainly didn't hold back Ovechkin.
Sochi had the worst season in KHL historyHis best teammate had 30 points in 55 games. Michkov had 20 in 27. That tells me that a) his team is frickin' terrible, and b) he's got serious serious potential.
What was the process that led to them being able to acquire him?Sochi had the worst season in KHL history
