In all seriousness, I wouldn't be opposed to calling up a goon from Bakersfield for the sole purpose of pulling a Dennis Wideman the next time this happens. Take the suspension and send a strong message back the other way.
Dont think taking out the refs with a crosscheck is in the cards lol

Obvious they were afraid of being seen as lenient just because it's the best player in the world, so they throw the book at him instead AND give Myers the same which is ridiculous. Remember lumberjack Pietrangelo got one game.

If they're gonna be this harsh on Connor for finally snapping at the BS he endures and has ensured for a decade, they should also be committed to addressing the larger issue.

Does anyone think they're committed to addressing the larger issue?

I wish this would of been a bigger story league wide, but, probably just going to go down as crybaby McDavid, crybaby Oiler fans
Nailed it. That’s exactly how the story is going to go. Flame and Cuck fans I’m unfortunate enough to be associated with are already running with that. Oh … and don’t forget, they always care about the children. Think of all the kids who look up to McDavid, think of his responsibility as a hero to the wider community. It’s only natural that the league would want to be seen disciplining him seriously etc etc. But what’s plain as day is that the only reason they are delighted about this is because it’s bad for McDavid and it’s bad for the Oilers. Zero objectivity.

Hm, 3 games for McDavid seems a little excessive given that the player has no history, the victim wasn't injured, and the incident was obviously premeditated by the perpetrator being illegally held down on the ice. Given all factors, I think 1 or 2 games would have been about right.

Probably the reason it's more is that the next six games are in Edmonton, and I assume ESPN isn't doing any of them? If any Oilers' were on the road, they'd probably have given him a lighter penalty.

Add to this precedence. 3 games in the NHL is actually a pretty significant suspension. There are many examples of a lot worse that got less than 3 games.

Because, as fluffy as it is, he was called up for Team Canada. If he didn't want to go in the first place and said so, fine. But not to go because the league suspends you 3 games it's childish and would reflect poorly on him.
He is actually starting to look like a chump with the way the league treats him and how he takes it.

Even the video downplayed the preceding incident by saying the two players were tangled up.

I think it’s time for a little load management as per Stauffer. Gaem against NYr at msg, take the night off to rest. Pick another.
