Ovy knocked out another Russian.

Guy doesn't fight because he shouldn't and he isn't that good at it.

He can change a game with hitting and goal scoring.
OV doesn’t need to fight, but he certainly can when called on.

Montreal fan. I’d go Fantilli @ 2, Carlsson @3, even with the risk Michkov might be better, just because you’re getting 2 sure top-notch NHLers. @4, I’d be 50/50 Smith/Michkov. But @5, if Smith is off: Do we pick Dvorsky or Reinbacher over Michkov? It’s like the talent falls off a cliff past Smith/Michkov.

With that said, i wouldn’t put it past our org to get really cute and ignore Michkov.
Imo the Habs should for sure take Michkov if he’s there at 5. He’d be a huge star in Montreal. Might be the most exciting Hab since #10.

@4 I’m pretty sure we would go Smith among other things because our GM knows him well and they’re risk averse. But @5 with Smith gone, it’s kind of awkward to go for players with important question marks or basically a likely Top-6 F or Top-4D over Michkov. We’ll see. I’m not holding my breath.

So many mocks have this guy falling to Washington and it’s getting my hopes up only for them to be inevitably crushed on draft day. Would be awesome to have a top line with Miroshnichenko and Michkov on the wings in a few seasons.

Come on now why you do you have to be that mean

Well, it's not me, it's life.

When Gurianov was 16-17-18 he was considered the next Russian big star along with that kid Kaprizov. Funny enough Michkov reminds Kaprizov stylistically. History loves to repeat itself...

Michkov was actually asked about this prospect of playing with Ovie, he said it’s be great, but he doesn’t really care who drafts him

Stylistically, Michkov reminds me of Frankenstein blend of Kaprizov, Keller, and Stutzle. He has Kaprizov's world-class hands and skill, Keller's size and dynamic jitterbug style, and Stutzle's motor, fire, and dogged determination. I fully expect him to come to North America as a 21-year old phenom and put up high-end numbers from jump. If this kid ends up Nikita Kucherov 2.0 the teams 2-7 who pass on him will look like fools, regardless of what the kids they drafted do.
Motor? Fire? Dynamic jitterbug?
It is an AU Michkov?

Miroshnichenko is Gurianov 2.0
Good comparsion actually

He won't drop to us imo
I wouldn’t be so sure of that. SJ need help now not in three years. Smith will undoubtably need another year of development but he’s a lot closer to making an NHL roster than MM is. I’m not sure the casual Sharks fan will be very happy with the wait.

The Habs have a much deeper prospect pool. They can afford to stash him and the fan base will appreciate the decision to do so much easier.

Still say Michkov will be a Hab and be comfortable in blue, blanc and rouge. He’ll also be public enemy #1 in Boston!

They’re at the start of a rebuild.

Uhhh... what? It finally seems like the Sharks are entering an actual rebuild. Michkov fits the Sharks timeline perfectly. At least the Sharks board seems to be behind picking Michkov.

Hoping the Sharks do it - I agree it fits the Sharks timeline well and it seems my Habs don't wanna take the Michkov risk. That would leave us with Smith.

Would fit really well. By that time, the Sharks are freed or close to freed of all their expensive aging contracts (Vlasic, EK, Couture).

And then Sharks keep getting high picks in 2024 and 2025. The current prospects have time to develop and when Michkov arrives, hopefully the team is on the right track and he brings that "punch" similar to what Kaprizov did with the Wild.

If Michkov inexplicably fell to the Sabres it would be such a perfect pick. That have plenty of forward prospect depth so waiting 2-4 years for him to come over would be a homerun. Not likely to happen but of every team they have insulation where they wouldnt need him to come over anytime soon

Corey Pronman has Michkov over Bedard on this list  :

I like his top. Would prefer to not include Danielson, but his respect to Michkov, Reinbacher as top10, Simashev as potential Yzerman pick and Leonard over Perrault is some takes I share with him.

I`m not ready to say Michkov over Bedard, but I live in the same context and the way of view where Bedard os obviously number 1 is a thing we already used to do. For me they are 1a 1b. I have Moore in top-12 and I think with his speed and forechecking he can be at least second third line center, that is very valuable.

Same could be said for any team that's not in a rush to improve their offense. Both competing and rebuilding.

The only teams that don't really need him would be young teams trying to get out of the basement ASAP.

I just think there is 0 chance in hell the Capitals passes on him if he falls to 8th.
