To somehow tie Michkov father's death to politics (I mean Michkov is staying in Russia in the nearest future anyway) someone has to be real Pejorative Slured and I think and hope that posters here are not like that.
It sounds like he may have fell through the ice in a pond while drinking? Isn't that like the leading cause of death for Russian men? I wouldn't chalk it to to anything political either, sounds like a common tragedy this time of year.

It is unlikely there was any ice, it is Sochi. However there are places where you can relatively easy fall in an unfortunate way if you're feeling unwell or something: Google Maps

Sochi is like southern France/North Italy in climate. So, no ice in April

This is something you never want to hear, so sorry for their loss and hopefully Michkov’s family get all the support and help they need.

Thats the 1st round of the 2020 draft almost 3 years ago:

Besides Bedard it will look almost the same for the 2023 draft. Its not even a question imo that you take Michkov at least in the Top 5. But if not for the 1OA I really dont care. And Michkov shouldn't either. In good Russian tradition he should ideally be drafted somewhere in the last rounds.

Ouf.. not to derail the thread but what happened with Marco Rossi? I remember so many wild projections of this guy and so far nothing special stats-wise..

Not trying to be cynical but are you doing to believe it when it says suicide?
This post sounds like you know for sure he hadn't any mental issues or depression or something. Unless someone here somehow does I don't see how we can believe it or not here.

There are things the autopsy can determine, for example if there are substances in his blood or if there were any injuries potentially caused by fighting or if he died from drowning or before that etc. If nothing like that is found along the lack of additional evidence they are likely going to call suicide and only the ones who knew him can actually conclude if they believe it or not.

So it's damaging and harmful to raise suspicion that it could be a wrongful death, but it's fine to assume depression or mental issues? Despite drowning being an extremely rare form of suicide? Both assumptions are harmful.

I think you got me wrong, my idea wasn't about assuming anything, it was about the "are you going to believe" thing. If the conclusion will be suicide (or actually any other conclusion, doesn't really matter here) then unless you have some strong arguments (which in case of suicide realistically can have only the ones who knew him personally) there is just no other way than to accept it. Unless the argument is that "Russia is lies" - it works everytime, but that actually is a religion.
