I mean, he's not. Part of what made Ovi so great was his frame and physicality , he was going to be able to dominate physically as well as offensively.

If michkov was an Ovi level prospect, regardless of the political situation, he would be 1/2 with bedard right now on everyone's list. He's an amazing prospect, likely the best Russian since Ovi, and IMO he is #2 behind Bedard, but he's not quite on the level of Ovi. I think one would have to be pretty naive to think he was on that level since Ovi was one of the best prospects ever.

Ovy was a bull on skates who could skate through players, hit through players while also having the best shot in the league.

He was a true unicorn, which is something just blind stat watching won’t tell you and shouldn’t be ignored.

If he keeps this playoff run it’s certainly true.
He has 8 in 9 and is a key player for a top SHL team

Just a crazy situation. People say his body was found in a pool near the place Michkov family rented apartments. There is nothing so far about the cause of death.

I think nothing. The family lives in a luxury district, near the arena where HC Sochi plays, it's impossible to come across any gangs there, very safe place. Police says nothing. Rumors say he drowned. He didn't drink any alcohol or consume any substances. Suicide? But why? Hard to say.

They were watching the playoffs game SKA vs CSKA, which SKA lost in OT. He left the appartments during OT or immediately after it, and that's it. People phoned him 20 min later but he didn't answer.

Phones tend to get dead when those get in the water you know.

Reportedly security cams caught him walking chaotically for 10 minutes until disappearing from their sight. No visible signs of violence have been noticed on the body, so the main versions are heart issues or suicide. This report is not too reliable though.

Anyway I don't see any reason for speculation at least until the results of an autopsy will be provided, just because until then the only thing that is known is that unfortunately he is dead.

To somehow tie Michkov father's death to politics (I mean Michkov is staying in Russia in the nearest future anyway) someone has to be real Pejorative Slured and I think and hope that posters here are not like that.
