He's recovered after another illness and played his first game, scored an assist. 13+17 after 35 games.
Any details besides he's out once again with an "illness"? As I've said before, it's bizarre. I can't recall a player that had so much weirdness swirling around him. Total puzzle. Are Flyers fans freaking out? I'd be if he was our pick. Maybe it's just a bunch of benign coincidences. But man-o-man...

Probably kind of unluck in the mix with typical teen bravado. Like, you're young, healthy and going to live for next 1000 years.

I think, it should be a good lesson for the kid. Health is the most valueable thing for any professional athlete. Way more valueable than money. You won't buy health for any money if you don't care about it. It's better to get this lesson sooner than later...

Thanks man. I understand what you mean to a degree. I lived with a Russian woman from Almaty for 6 yrs and had lots of Russian friends, vodka and blini, lol. Russian guys are big risk takers and very adventurous. But I thought the athletes were more careful 😂. Spasibo!

Great to see him back. Pretty impressive season if you consider the circumstances. He was ill 3 or 4 times if i remember correctly. Hope he stays healthy this time. Great prospect

Yea, I haven't read anything about multiple illnesses. Just that he's been battling pneumonia, which can be nasty.

He missed a few weeks before he got pneumonia, then he missed almost a month because of it, got back, played a few games and got another illness again. Overall he's already missed about two months because of different illnesses.

I like how fans and media are trying to create drama around him with overreacting and false statements, and after telling that this player has troubles in him because of the noise around.
sochi lost like 17 games in a row while michkov was sick and now hes back finally 100% healthy and theyve won their last 2 games, hes def a big part of that team not just for the offense but theyve been playing with a lot more jump in their step this week. i dont buy into the bullshit that he has attitude problems, i think part of the drama is just because people dont like Russia right now

Yeah. And some of the fans, media that represent some of fan bases and overall clicks and hype are making by loud headline. People and media are trying to rationalize what happening on the draft by the reasons that are not the real reasons. And every splash of the air is helping.
He is Russian so he was cursed right the day of his born.
That was fun from some fan bases when there were release about 5 players who was involved in sexual scandal. And some fans started to talk about how they will play in KHL. Okay, a couple of bad dudes with bad past are playing in KHL. But its not like this 5 guys didnt play in NHL all that time before, its not like hockey canada didnt try to hide everything what was going on, its not like there are no actual coaches, players or prospects with bad past. Paint something in black and save your mood by cursing some group of people or even nation by it(I forgot who did it in the past). No matter what sins are on other shoulders. It makes a day easier to live. It makes a day better when Michkov is ill, because he is absolutely bad typical Russian with bad attitude, character, bad health that will never give him a real chance to hit his ceiling and it was right to draft other player.

I hope he will be very fun evil Russian for NHL and will make a lot of fun from rivalry vs Bedard(very good canadian shiny player of the generation with great smile) or vs Jack Hughes (new best american player who will compete against him in many games). I trully think that this rivalries will make NHL much more fun in the next years. Crosby vs Ovechkin was very fun competition, created a lot of attention. It is good for sport of hockey.

For pure love of hockey. I hope he kicks ass in the NHL as it would be fun to watch, and especially head to head vs Bedard.

I wanted Montreal to pick him. But for that reason, the jealous, evil, vindictive side of me wants him to screw up. I know, imperialist mindset, haha. It softens the blow of not picking him.

But you have to admit, there are more than the usual amount of strange things happening around Michkov. So I think its unfair to criticize people who bring them up. I've never seen anything quite like it in over 50 years of following hockey. Close, but not quite like it.

I don't think so. He isn't first overall and he has great result for his age. There were a lot of more cocky, more illful or players, who didn't play more after draft. Other things are about overreactions in the context of modern politics. Lindros didn't want to play and asked for a trade, Jagr wanted to play in pens only, Daigle wanted money, Wright didn't play the whole year and was meh in his pre draft year and act quite funny in the draft day, Wayne himself wasn't drafted and played his first year outside from NHL, Malkin escaped Russia "illegally", there were a lot top 6 players who played very badly after draft. Jack Hughes, Kakko, Lafrenier, Slafkovsky started very slowly in NHL. Etc. Michkov is very calm in interviews, act like he was excited to be drafted by flyers, making great results for his age and for khler overall. Yes, he was ill many times, but Luke Hughes was ill about two or three times this season. In the context of Covid and cold winter in Russia he should work on his immune, but I believe he will handle it. Other talk are more conspiracy because of hype, clicks and politics.
And ofcourse I'm sympathize to him, so may be im little bit belittling "this issues")

Yeah, it's great to hear from Russians (I assume you are) to get more a more relevant feel for what's going on. It's always been a point of distrust since the days of the Soviet Union. I remember all the rumors that Soviets were lying about the ages of players so they could dominate in Junior tournaments. And all the intrigue around team Canadas trip to Moscow in 1972 (bad food, spying etc). So I get it. So reading something like the 1st point I bolded is awesome insight for us in North America and strips away lots of the hyperbole.

Regarding the 2nd point I bolded, my ex Russian girlfriend would have that fixed ASAP with a combination of Borsht, Shuba Salad and premium Russian Vodka (or as she called it with her accent: Wodka 🇷🇺) :D

Only with a lot of Vodka. Or Wodka

Borsch is good, but not with such salad though. Just take black bread and enjoy.
The black bread! Now you're giving me flashback memories. Loved that stuff too. Used to get it at a great Russian/Ukrainian Food Market in the West End in Downtown Vancouver. I'm Greek, we love our peasant food too .

удем здоровы!
