He didn't play in the 3rd period in the previous game as well. It's either something about his physical conditions or there is problems between him and the coach.
As I already said, he is not coachable. He will always have problems with any coach, especially in the NHL. He is “too good” to listen to any coach. This may change over time, but for now this is the case. The only coach he listened to was his father, who unfortunately passed away.

Lol, you're so wrong. And we don't even know exactly why he missed the game.

Wow, just wow. Michkov recently returned from a long absence due to pneumania, had a bad game which was a second part of a back-to-back, he looked slow and tired, he definitely wasn't 100%. The coach gave him some rest and time to gain conditioning. It definitely helped, he was flying today. But you can keep your narrative, whatever makes you happy.

Is there any possibility he can play for the Flyers next year already? I want to see that happen and I believe he will ready for the PP right from the start.
This kid, Tuomaala, and if they draft Konsta Helenius as their future center? Now that would be something.

Would have to mutually terminate his KHL contract

I'm pretty sure he won't play in the NHL before he is 24-25 years old.

its kind of cherry picking but he's sitting at .93 ppg in the 40 games hes played for Sochi this year and if he hadn't missed those 20 odd games he'd likely be in the top 10 scorers for the season, over 50 points easy

I think every team that passed him over except Chicago is going to greatly regret it. Some more than others, but I think he’s showing this year why he’s better than all those players. But this was also obvious last year and the year before and the year before that. I don’t know if Chicago will ever regret their decision, but I think he’s keeping pace with Bedard this season, and could end up the better player eventually.

I think he, Carlsson and Fantilli are all basically in the same mix and understand why you'd take the latter two and get them into the lineup immediately rather than waiting around and hoping SKA doesn't screw up his development too much. I was a big advocate to take him 4th though, no offense to W. Smith.

Bedard is injured, Fantilli is injured, Carlsson was injured... Are you sure it's a good idea to play in the NHL as 18 year old?

Regardless of any of it, you can sign the kid to an ELC right away and then control their development between NHL/Juniors/AHL/Euro loan, etc. With Michkov, they are beholden to those on the other side of the world that may not have his development at heart considering he is just going to leave and they won't get a transfer fee or anything like that.

Yes, Bedard broke his jaw and Fantilli lacerated his calf, but Michkov has also missed a good amount of time with various illness. Injury can occur anywhere.

Carlsson's injury had nothing to do with his age. If anything, him being younger and more flexible probably made it less significant of an injury.

Bit of a threadjack...

My view was that he was on Bedard's level. Still is. BUT I wouldn't draft him that high because, as a GM, I'd have no control over where he goes or how he develops. I draft him, my team probably sucks because I'm drafting 1st or 2nd and I may be fired before he ever suits up.

So my question is for Flyer's fans...

Are you happy with how he is being developed in the KHL?

Are you happy to wait two more years till he arrives?

That's all.
