After two, Sochi is hardly creating any chances and is down 3-0. Most of the chances that are coming are from Michkov's line, but Michkov looks a bit sluggish. He's def still recovering a bit from his illness. Sochi may need some time to adjust after shaking up the lineup significantly

Separately, does anyone know what's the deal with J Bracco? What was the problem in Barys?

Not really surprised, awesome talent. He was the 2nd generational talent of the 2023 draft. That draft will have produced lots of amazing players when everything will be said and done.

The talent was never an issue. His draft stock falling all stemmed from off-ice problems teams didn't fully understand. I had him #2 on my board, but I probably wouldn't have taken him until about #4-7 oa range. Not many teams were able to communicate with him and there were multiple rumors about him having attitude issues. If you didn't draft him in the top 5, you are still getting a great player. It is really risky putting so much draft stock into unknown variables. Especially when that unknown variable is a winger just short of 5'10.

The word you're looking for is innuendo.

All prospects are unknown variables. If teams are passing on elite talent due to "rumours," then heads should be rolling.

They definitely should be rolling in Montreal.

The thing is, ownerships may have been just as averse to the rumors and risks as the GMs, if not moreso

There was an Athletic article with anonymous quotes from GMs and execs before the draft, and one said something to the effect of .. "If I got approval from ownership to take him that early, I would do it"

I’m patient and I want to give the benefit of the doubt to Reinbacher, but by this December if it’s already clear that Reinbacher needs to absolutely become Adam Fox or Roman Josi to make the pick worthwhile, people need to lose their job.

It makes sense that ownership would be involved in high picks who will likely be with the organization longer than the GM.

i couldnt tell on the replay if michkov touch passed that puck to tyanulin or if it just looked like he did? nice little play though even if he wasnt involved on the score sheet

You'll be patient and wait till December eh.

theres nothing to be patient about im sure Reinbacher will become a good top 4 that will play big minutes for us but passing on Michkov was always a huge mistake specially for a team like us who needs elite talent

u know its bad when our last ppg player was over a decade ago...

German Rubtsov for Spartak Moscow makes it 2-1 shorthanded goal midway through the 2nd period. Two flyer first rounders on the ice. One former, one current.

There are some games where it feels like Sochi can't complete a pass.

Game isn't over yet, but Michkov has visibly quieted down after a few dominant performances the other week.
