I'm not concerned at all about his poor showing at the WJC. It's not like McDavid had a good tournament either. I put much more stock into his good to great season in the Liiga than 5 games on a weak Finland team.

Come on now....McDavid still has 8 points in 5 games. Not quite the same thing as Kap.

I know Kapanen has a really bad tournament, I was just saying a bad tournament really means nothing in the long run. McDavid (who hasn't had the best tournament) isn't not going to go 1st overall because of this tournament.

Didn't play for KalPa today. Next game is the 7th so would think he would be back for that.

He was doing good before the putrid wjc performance, now he has stopped scoring. Kinda like Rantanen in reverse.

I have seen a lot of Kasperi's games this year and it looks like he is always trying do very difficult things on ice, like trying to score coast-to-coast goals etc. He should just concentrate to basic things and play like professionals play. Most of his goals have came after great individual effort. He has scored only some "normal" goals (rebounds etc.)

Skillset of Kasperi is unbeliveable. He has elite level skating, stickhandling and shot. He also has a good frame for hockey, 6'0" or 184cm according to his current team. If he starts to do right things on ice he easily could be top6 winger in big league.

HE has all the tools

How's he been playing lately? Heard his game dropped off after the WJHC.

He's been playing on the third line. I haven't seen any of his games after the WJHC, but his point production has taken a dip. He's also missed some games, so he might have been injured a bit. But yes, he definitely has the tools to become a good NHL-player.

Yeah i don't see Kasperi as a guy who would fail in terms of making the NHL. He's got that attitude that he'll do whatever it takes and wants to be the best. Still somewhat arrogant though.

Going PPG for sub 20 games or something like that to start the season was a good sign. Honestly i was surprised at that point but his cold finish to the season evened it up. Glad to see he's playing well again in the playoffs.

What's up with these inconsistent really skilled forwards our country have produced lately ? Armia, Kapanen and i predict Laine to be the next similiar player in that regard. And then there's the diamond Puljujärvi who i think will be the opposite.

Anyways, back to Kasperi. He's still couple years away from the NHL. One more year in Finland, one year in the AHL while getting a taste of NHL action and then hopefully he's ready.

Perfect, he will fit right in. :)

Funny how no one talks about this kid whatsoever on this page.

What a game from him though in his professional debut.
