RW Jesse Puljujärvi (2016, 4th, EDM) VII

Yes I know. Would have loved to see how that team would have competed against other countries.

Doesn't matter now considering they ran a train wreck on everyone at the U20 World Juniors just a few years later. Im assuming it would have been a similar result at the U-17

3 goals in 12 games? I guess at least he's producing better than Virtanen.

After tonight, 4 goals in 13 - 10 points.
Playing on the 3rd line, sometimes second with Iiro Pakarinen and Jere Sallinen.

Iiro Pakarinen has zero points in 4 games and Sallinen with 6 in 38. He's producing by himself.

Virtanen has 9 points in 34 games.

The difference here is that one of these players can play hockey.

10 points in 13 games along with hitting some posts, an assist taken away from him and some prime setups not buried on open nets by teammates.

Pulju has been dominant at 18, pretty much every game he's been the best player on the ice. He's got more points in 13 games than a 20 year old Virtanen does in 34 games this year .

If the Oilers make the playoffs this year, he could come in handy ;)

If we use him right and give him some PP time in the Ovechkin spot.

Yeah he could be big in a playoff series. Hell come up pull of youthful adrenaline and just go 100 mph out there in a section of the season where everyone is tired

Last years playoffs weren't the easiest for Pulju with returning from injury but I remember him being everywhere in OT's.

This year he could again give a nice energy boost for the team when the tougher games start, he's hungry and fresh.

3 game goal streak for Pulju, 2nd star of the game.

He seems to be figuring out how to use his immense speed to blow past defenders (based on his latest highlights). In Edmonton and even in Finland last year he rarely got the puck at full speed, except at the WJC. If Pulju keeps improving at getting his timing right, the Oilers will have two great players who can rush up the puck by themselves in him and McDavid.

I'm glad he has two other Finns on his team to play with, pretty smart by the Oilers to sign them if they planned it this way.

Pakarinen is a really good energy player that i expected would play with the Oilers this season. He may not have Puljujarvi's skill but he's a good role model based on his compete level and heart, plus he bridges the language barrier.
