Jesse we need you in World Championships!!
Edmonton will keep him around if Bakersfield misses the playoffs. Don't see Marjamäki picking him without being on the training camp even if Edmonton loses the first round.
Are they really that bad *****? They keep him but he doesn't even get time to play or even little bit chance for that? Then Marjamäki is very dumb guy. We have many players in team which are nothing compared to Puljujärvi. I am pretty sure he would be a huge improvent to our team, we need someone who can really product, because at the moment it looks like we ain't gonna get Pate.
I'm glad about not having Laine joining the crew. If anything, all I want for him is a guaranteed healthy summer. Plus, he has nothing left to prove there. Jesse would be interesting addition however. Would love to see how he's improved this year while playing in the AHL and how it would look like on an international level. Sadly this wasn't Jesse's year, but I'm pretty confident he'll turn the tide around come next.
Funny how some of the hardcore JP fans disappeared once Laine started scoring goals in the NHL. Jespers Creepers being maybe the most notorious of them (who for instance claimed it was a coin toss between P/L and how Barkov was better goal scorer than Laine at the same age).![]()
I'm just happy about the country producing elite talent. Nothing has changed concerning Puljujärvi. He just needs more time to adapt.
So what's going on with this guy, how'd he do in the AHL despite the points?
Is he still considered a 1st liner with elite potential?

You can't really use Draisaitl as a comparable, by that logic I could say Brett Howden is tracking better than Draisaitl. 6 games is way too small a sample to make any comparisons to Draisaitl worthwhile. Puljujarvi is also by far the most hyped prospect to spend is 18-year-old season in the AHL.Despite the points? One of best 18 year old seasons in the AHL...
Hell be even better than draisaitl (who was not as good in AHL) so think about how good draisaitl is and make him a better goal scorer
This post is completely true. Pulju did not have a good season, though a first season in NA is hard for some prospects from Europe. I still believe that Pulju will become an elite winger in the NHL, but he needs time. Next season he could score 50p or 20p depending on the summer. You can't really use Draisaitl as a comparable, by that logic I could say Brett Howden is tracking better than Draisaitl. 6 games is way too small a sample to make any comparisons to Draisaitl worthwhile. As for the 18-year-old season's, the sample is so small you can't really do much with it. It is behind Pastrnak, W.Nylander, and Filatov of guys who played over 25 games. Other guys in their draft +1 outperformed him dramatically like Rantanen. Just this year of U-20's, Christian Fischer had a stronger statistical season. Guys like Roslovic performed to a similar level.
I mean he could become better than Draisaitl, but I don't think the AHL production is a good basis to make that claim. I could just as easily make the argument he'd be the next Filatov based on AHL production (which would be very short-sighted).
Here is my 2016/17 Season Highlights video for Jesse Puljujarvi.
It only features his AHL production.
