I watched them a ton it was obvious how good he was. Strange two people can see completely different things. He was their best player, especially in the second half. He was probably the best player in the OHL in the second half. You could see his ability and how much more growth their was. Absolute no brainer he was the better pick over Rossi.

There isn't anything strange about it, it's completely normal that people evaluate prospects differently and have different draft rankings.

But he played last night? I know the Covid shutdown is killing my ability to keep track of the days of the week but...

He played, he scored, he picked up an assist... and apparently he got hurt. :(
But... yesterday is Thursday... right?

He mentioned a "Friday" game so either Adams got his days wrong OR he's talking about an injury/game from last(?) week.

It's a no Brainer if you watch the games and understand the players. Quinn was a late riser because he matured physically much later. Rossi while a very good prospect was the opposite. He had already grown and filled out. Quinn despite being a late was behind on his development time both games at that level and physically. When watching the games consistently you could see his speed and strength improve. He was flat our more noticeable and it wasn't close by the end of the season. He was also doing things that no one else on the ice was doing. Beating players with incredible agility/stick handling/skating and scoring from distance with a laser of a shot. He was also a terror on the pk.

The bolded makes it appear like most you were stat watching. I was helping with video and one of my good friends was part of the coaching staff. I had the opportunity to watch the team alot. I can't say I watched any other prospects or teams more so I'd have to rely on stats for my evaluations for most of the other players too. Nothing wrong with that this is a hobby.
obnoxious.

Steal of the draft.
More like “has a solid shot to be worth his draft position.” For him to be the steal of the draft at 8th overall, he’d pretty much have to end up the best player in the draft.

If we’re gonna label anyone an early “steal of the draft” favourite, I’d say Mercer. But really, need to wait a few years, see if any later picks turn into total studs.

Also, would any of the teams trade the guy they took top 7 for Quinn, today? Maybe NJ/Holtz, but it’s arguable, and I don’t think anyone else would. I think it’s more likely that the Sabres would say yes to Quinn for Lundell or Jarvis.

I would be shocked if there was an informed hockey mind out there that wouldn’t prefer Quinn over holtz
