RW Brock Boeser - North Dakota, NCAA (2015, 23rd, VAN)

He might not be better than Tarasenko, but Craig Button named him the best goal scorer in several drafts at the time of Brock's selection in 2015. I assume he meant the best since 2010, when Vlad was selected 16th overall.

Yea, I agree his offensive tools are amazing and his shot is remarkably strong and accurate. I just don't see him being better version of Tarasenko, I mean it's ridiculously high level, like prime Kovalchuk or pre-injury Stammer level of player.

Neither was he. In his postgame interview he roughly said: "I didn't even think there was a penalty called, I didn't feel a hack or a slash or anything, but I'll take it *laugh*"

Let's not forget the most important part of his game - Elite Flow

Getting a bit carried away are we? Tarasenko comparison? I'm very excited as well but let's keep our feet on the ground.

Great prospect to have...
As good as he looks, I agree that unless his initial quickness improves, at the very least, it leaves some question as to how his scoring will translate at the next level.
But, there is a lot to be excited about.

As a Nucks fan, there is so much to be cautiously optimistic about; but, I'm not sure Canuck fans are doing themselves, or BB, any favors by comparing him to Tarasenko, Gaudreau etc at this point.

He's producing at a franchise level player status. He's catapulted himself as a top 5 pick and will likely be Sedins line mate next season with Eriksson be next to Horvat on the 2nd line

He's had a good start to the season, but you're getting completely carried away. 2015 draft is stacked, he's not even a top 10 prospect from that draft, let alone top 5.

He's top 5 in my books and you can't convince me otherwise. Even Button and McGuire think he is now at least in the top 10.

He's tracking better than Toews, Gaudreau, and Parise in his college career. He's also producing at this insane rate in the toughest College division.

Man I just hope he hits the damn net this year at the WJC...he was so hard to watch last year, majority of his shots missed then net, the ones that made it on goal were chest shots.

There's no way he would go top 5, he would not be drafted ahead of McDavid, Eichel, Hanifin, Marner, Strome, Provorov, Werenski, Rantanen and Connor. He would probably go in the 10-12 range in a re-draft.

Of course you do, you're a Canucks fan. I wouldn't dare try to convince you that you are overrating your own prospects.

But just for fun, who of McDavid, Eichel, Strome, Marner, Hanifin, Werenski, Provorov, Aho, Connor, Konecny, Beauvillier, Barzal etc would you take him over? You know, young guys who are already making an impact at the NHL level.

I'm not convinced he'd even go that high. I'd personally take Aho, Barzal, Beauvillier, Konecny ahead of him, and possibly Zacha, Meier, Chabot, and White. He's a great prospect but that 2015 draft was loaded.

As some of you have noticed i have changed some of my orders around like Marner is so talented is no possibly above Strome which a lot of people already said. And Werenski passed Provorov but that really could change cause is only been a few games this season infact that whole 6-9 is interchangeable (Boeser Rantanen Prov Werenski) and who knows Konecny is really showing he could challenge as the STEAL of the draft i just love that guys game so much

I disagree with your first part but your second part about that draft is true. And its only been a year and a half its fun to have these debates but none of us will really know until a few years from now what the correct order really could of been. I say Boeser at 6 or 7!! But Im also a Canucks fan so theres that ;)

Do you not think if he was in the NHL that he'd be making an impact on the Canucks roster?

The kid wanted to get another yet of education before being a professional.

We all know you re lower on Boeser then 99% of every other poster so..

I don't know. There are still some question marks about his ability to translate. He's made improvements in his skating but it's still subpar. There aren't a lot of young NHL players that aren't great skaters.

Like many others have said: That was Bo Horvat's problem going into the NHL, now it's a strength.

Boeser seems like a very determined kid, don't see why he couldn't do the same thing. I don't really see issues in his skating like we had in Hodgson.

So stupid to be making long term prognostications about a draft a little over 1.5 years down the road. Y=

Luke Schenn was making an impact in the NHL before Erik Karlsson.......your point on NHL "impact" for guys who are literally just starting to make NHL rosters, like Beauvillier, Barzal, and Aho is beyond moot. None of them have accomplished anything yet, and if you don't think Boeser is skilled enough to land a spot with the Nucks I don't know what to tell you. Not even a VAN fan, just live in the real world

Doesn't matter really. Let him get to the NHL first and see what happens. Maybe he turns out better than some of these guys and maybe he doesn't. It is useless to speculate at this point. Just enjoy him at ND for this year. I will say though that it is easy to see why so many prospects attend that school. Looks like an awesome place to spend your college years.
