I know Connor is in an easier division, but you still take him 10/10 times over Boeser. His speed will help him translate to the NHL with more ease.

So because he skates faster, he is, and will amount to, a better player?

I don't think it's much of a stretch to suggest that he has a higher floor and ceiling than Bo Horvat.

sky is the limit for him right now. At first he was only scoring goals. Then teams figured a way to shut him down from scoring goals, then he started piling up assists, when he's not scoring goals. He's a multi dimensional scoring machine.

I don't get it. He has nothing left to prove at the college level. Why go back, if you're just going to dominate at an even higher level and not test yourself against stronger competition in the AHL?

Not everyone wants to play in AHL I guess
He just won a championship, there's no wrong for him to want to return to college instead of AHL.
Being a college Athlete is fun for sure:naughty:

When Brock was drafted he emphasized on how important it is for him to get his education. Honestly I dont see the Canucks signing him until 2018.

That being said, I dont see it being a problem to sign him once his school is done.

Likewise, he just finished his freshman year and is defending a championship. Another year of improvement with better numbers is nothing but good for his development. No need to rush him just for the novelty aspect.

Boeser will be a Canuck one day but Canuck fans need to come back to reality, I think most have but... Canucks aren't winning anything anytime soon, they are going to need to do a semi rebuild, This kid could be a big piece to that rebuild along with Horvat, Virtanen? I don't know what his future is but he looked lost out there most times I watched him this year...

Canucks have a long way to go. Kind of in no mans land, You have some decent prospects on the way but you also have several older players who's best years are probably going to behind them. Boeser and the sorts will be your future. No need to rush the future when your team isn't really ready to compete.

Canucks are in an interesting spot, Really do need a rebuild of sorts, not sure the owner has the patience for it.

I know lots of Canucks fans crap on Benning but I'd hope or imagine his hands are tied by the Owner a wee bit on some of the moves he's made.

A lot of ex-North Dakota players have said they regret leaving school early for the AHL. If I'm not mistaken, Jordan Schmaltz has been the most recent.

Im not against it if he signs in the future, but it does get me worried a little bit about him not signing.

Hopefully he has another great year.

Not a good sign not liking where this is going the more its been reported :(

There is nothing to worry about. Boeser has three years of NCAA eligibility remaining so the Canucks have his rights for at least three more seasons. There is no way he's going to remain at North Dakota after the 2016/17 season because he will get paid big time by the Canucks if he turns pro.

I like this move.

I do not think Boeser was ready to jump into a nhl top 6 role.

1 more year at UND then he'll be ready. It's better to over cook then undercook in this situation IMO.

Clearly UND is still gonna be a good team. Plus it has absolutely fantastic facilities. It's a great place for a prospect to develop.

Same goes for the CHL to the NHL.

I have yet to see a player negatively affected by another year of junior hockey regardless of the players success in his previous seasons.

I don't get why people keep saying "he has nothing left to prove". It makes no sense.

HELLO he's learning.

He actually has a lot to prove, he was on a line with schmaltz and cagguila both good players. How well can he do without them? He going to play with Jost next year hopfully they can create some chemistry.

Agreed. Next year he will be in a leadership role from day one.
And whether he's in the AHL or UND he still needs another year, IMO.
UND has had a good track record of developing players so it seems like a reasonable choice for him to make.

Will be interesting to see if he can improve his numbers, other elite scoring freshman kept a similar pace as sophomores (Vanek, Heatley, and Parise). Although he had a weak WJC, you have to expect him, Tkachuk and Werenski as the likely leaders on next years squad.
