Surprised this and earlier the White thread weren't more active. Rare opportunity to watch a game on Canadian television. I was surprised he was taking that face-off, I thought he was primarily a winger.

For whatever reason it seems like he takes a good amount of faceoffs... for a winger anyway.

He is a winger, that said he's been taking and winning face offs all year long.

He could be in the AHL next year? If McCann doesn't dominate in camp they should send him down. With Demko, McCann and Boeser, there is enough incentive for Canucks fans to tune into the Comets games.

could be, but it sounds like both sides are interested in him staying for one more year.

with Smaltz gone I kinda wanna see if he can still maintain his high play without him, and with some veterans gone.

I hope he stays one more year. IMO it is good for prospects to develop in a situation where they are counted on to lead the team.

I find myself agreeing however his situation is such where its a very fine line between developing in a good situation where he's the absolute go to guy or risking stagnating in NCAA (which we saw with Schroeder) as opposed to moving up to a new challenge in the AHL

I'll be happy with either choice I think, I have confidence in Benning when it comes to this (of all things)

if he wins the frozen four then there is absolutely nothing left for him to accomplish in the NCAA. He put up a spectacular season that has him in the same conversation of Oshie, Toews, and Parise in their college careers, it's best for him to continue his trajectory at a higher level now.

I dont think the NCAA is why Schroeder stagnated, he had plenty of room to improve at that level but did not.

Even if he doesn't win he's close to NHL ready. Better off turning pro. He'll see NHL games next year if he does.

This is an awesome game to watch, so glad TSN has been broadcasting the tournament. Boeser definitely best player on the ice in the first.

Benning is awful at a lot of things. But man can he draft

25 points in his last 10 games.

10 points in the NCAA tourney 4 games. A 4 point final.

Crazy performance!

What a beauty.

He also beast Parise's 26 goal freshman season tonight with his 27th.

1.43 PPG, he will most likely go pro now.
