Brink isn't slow, he is slow for what you would expect from a player his size, then people misread or forget and remove the latter part.

Reading some of these posts, and it’s almost like some of you have never seen a prospect improve their stride and straight line speed before...
Thats a possibility, but its not the feeling I have when watching him skate...

If the player is willing to work on it, improving a stride is not that hard to correct. It only takes a couple of months for your body to learn the new stride and get comfortable with it.

Also... these guys are 17-18 years old. In Bobby Brink's case, he's been an all-star wherever he has played so far. Of course, he thinks his game is fine... Sure, some players are more mature at that age, look forward and see they have things to correct. However, it's not the case of most young players. Often, they will tell the media/teams whatever their agents (or "consultant" for prospects heading to the NCAA) will tell them to say. Give Brink time, better competition and I'm sure he will do what he needs to do to get to the NHL (improve his skating or whatever else).

Not all players are able to improve it signifiantly, I recall Corey Locke for example, similar size, highly skilled too, but could never improve his skating enough despite alot of effort...

For one, the training techniques have improved vastly since Locke's days. Also, I don't recall if Locke's problem was his stride or not. In Brink's case, it is his stride.

I think he’s on the bubble to make the team. Best case scenario, he probably plays on the third line. Worst case scenario, he’s 14th or 15th for 13 spots.

Brink is so physically immature, his skating will improve as he fills out - he knows where to be. He’s so smart and talented I’m not worried about him failing to make the NHL. Reminds of draft year Giroux, baby faced boy who just needs some time. Hope he can make WJC but it’s not easy.

Serious question, why do plays like this even get clipped and hyped lol...

Is this suppose to impress someone? #32 (33?) just sat there while Brink glided by him. He could have easily poke checked him but didnt even try.
I honestly sort of had a similar thought... but I tend to share whatever is out there just for information, for whatever it is worth.

How tall is his father?

Is he expected to grow much?

Dad Andy's hockeydb says 5'9 166, but I don't know about his mom's side or his uncles. Don't expect huge height gains but he will fill out and get strong. Daniel Briere comes to mind to. He's just very young.

Oh no, he likes to read! Ah-h-h-h-h--h-h-h!

Coming near the end of November, Brink with 6 goals, 5 assists for 11 points in 14 games! He’s right up there with his fellow US counterparts from the 2019 draft!

Doesn't seem like he's playing much. Is he on what would be considered the "fourth line" on this USA team? I don't see him out there often.

Can't say I have been keeping an eye out for him or noticed him a great deal but his usage seems to be 3rd/4th line tier
