I saw him at the State Tournament here in MN as a 16 year old. He is very small - I am not sure how much more growing he has to do (could be a lot or none at all).

With that said yes he has talent.

There's no way to know if he will be a successful player or not. I'm in my late 30s and in my life can recall countless first rounds (and beyond) just never have success in the NHL. I searched for some info and found this:

80% of first-round picks, 44% of second-round picks, and 30% of third-round picks will become low-level (or better) NHL players.

So Brink has a less than 45% chance of being "successful" (granted "successful" is up for debate) in the NHL.

That is not how that works, though. If Brink had been picked three spots earlier, he wouldn't have an 80% chance of being successful.

I guess. Or you could say he has an even smaller likelihood of having success as third rounder because he's so small...much smaller than the average 3rd rounder.

Only time will tell...

Small and bad at skating.

What can possibly go wrong.
Cam Robinson also said at the combine when asked about his skating Brink said it was fine. He said he's produced with how it is so why would he need to improve it lol. I imagine that scared some teams off.

You have a glaring weakness and you're telling teams it's something you don't think you need to work on.

Lol uh because he wants to make the NHL , not keep playing in USHL.

His skating is choppy and slow. His straight line speed is ok but everything else like turning and edges are verry poor.

His vision and offensive IQ can only take him so far. The NHL is now unforgivable for that cant skate and it's a big reason why BB fell out of 1st rnd

I thought most sites had him at 5'10" before the draft.. I think the Combine knocking an inch or two off of him probably made him fall a bit.

It sucks but there's a big difference between 5'10" and 5'8".
