Having another good game today, although his team is getting dominated by the USA
He's 6-8 IMO.
Mathews
Pulu
Laine
Chychrun
Tkachuk
Nylander

I have him at 5:
Matthews
Laine
Chychrun
Puljujarvi
Nylander
After Matthews this draft is going to be really interesting, I think the top five is very interchangeable depending on the team picking
He looks similar to William, but I don't think Alex is as good of a skater (first few steps acceleration, edges, top speed, etc) and as good of a playmaker as William. That's no slight to Alex since the older bro is elite in those facets
He does have a heavier shot though. If the Leafs draft him he could be the guy we're looking for in terms of a big point shot on the PP (along with being a potential top line winger ofcourse).
The saltiness in that facial expression is just so tasty
I'm a redwings fan but I actually hope toronto drafts Alexander just to watch his and Timashovs awesome chemistry in the future! (His older brother can drop dead imo. What a diva!).
Man the way he scored that goal was almost a carbon copy of the goal his brother scored in the pretournament game last year against Canada. Can anyone bring up the video. Pretty soon we'll start calling it the Nylander move.![]()
Alex looked like a better prospect than Tkachuk today. He looks quite strong and comfortable out there for a 17 year old. Playing himself into the top 5 thus far.
It's early but Alex Nylander leads the scoring derby between 3 top 5 picks IMO early on.
Nylander 1G 3A 4 points (game winner)
Matthews 1G 1A 2 points
Tkachuk 1G 1A 2 points
Fascinating to see who does the best as we go deeper in the tournament. I expect both teams to be around late in the medal rd.
He's actually got 5 points.
