Same with William :P.

I really really hope the Leafs draft this kid. Bothers are really close too. Interested to see if they play together at the WJC.

that's cool to have brothers play on a same team. that rarely happens in the NHL.

whats his scouting report? He might be in the Canucks draft radar comes June.

These guys look so bizarrely the same. The way they skate, shoot, stick-handle look so damn similar; they might not be twins off the ice, but on the ice you can barely tell the difference. First time I saw Alex I was shocked at how similar he looks to William on the ice.

It's uncanny. If anything, the younger brother is the better skater. Not saying he's the better prospect, because William has progressed so nicely these two years he's 'ahead' of Alexander, but I wouldn't be as surprised as some if Alexander ends up the better player in 10 years.

Think Alexander will challenge much higher up than he's ranked come June.

I would love to see him in Buffalo. The organization lacks wingers and *really* needs an offensively gifted winger to play with O'Reilly/Reinhart. Of course, they also need *the right type of winger* to play with Eichel; I'm not sure Nylander fits that particular bill, but who cares? More talent is better.

Regardless, it would be just awesome for the Buffalo-Toronto rivalry.

William's skating this Season has become elite. At the same age he may have been a better skater, but William's stride today is much more explosive. Putting on all that muscle helped him increase his acceleration leaps and bounds since last Season.

William's outscored Alex in every league they've ever played in quite handily, it's not fair to compare him to William. He's a hell of a talent in his own right.

Yet the more you watch them both. The more you realize they are completely different players.

Wow, just because he is brother to William, does not mean per automatic:
1.They play a similar game
2.They should be paired on the same line

They are different players, William playing style is poised slow tempo playmaker on the perimeter, that holds on to the puck for a long time before he makes a play, while Alexander makes fast plays and plays the transition game. Both are excellent skaters and stickhandlers sure but how they play the game, separates them. Also they almost never played on the same line. William will probably play along side Kempe and Lindblom in the WJC for sure.

You have obviously watched both play. Good analysis. Another thing that is obviously different is their shot. Alexander Nylander's shot is better. He can one time it with accuracy and power, or he can overpower goalies with it. This is what makes him an exceptional prospect in my mind. I have not seen too many 17 year olds shoot the puck like he can.

I'd say their shots are pretty evenly matched.

William has always been an elite skater. People who say Alex is a better skater just haven't seen both players. Skating is where William really has a big edge over his brother, and he uses it a lot more too. Alex is a very good skater though.

william is easily the better skater, not sure how anyone who has seen both would say otherwise. william's skating is elite. alex has the better shot, although william's shot is still a great asset, it's not that far off.

Exactly. William is an elite skater and always was, he was skating circles around men in Allsvenskan at 17. Alex is a very good skater. They're 10/10 and 8/10 respectively or so.

Honestly, I didn't see him much in Sweden, but I seen him in the World Juniors, and in training camp last Season. I will say his skating was amazing then, but his acceleration this Season is noticeably better than last. Kid has improved his shot a ton as well, which was already great.

Credited with 3 assists against Switzerland. They managed to give his 4th to someone who wasn't on the ice.

First time watching him play. Not as good as William, but should be a top ten pick. I keep saying this about all these players that are impressing me so far. You can't have 20 players in the top 10.

The main difference that distances Alex and William is skating imo. Alexander looks like a good skater, while William is elite in that regard.

I like this kids game though. Should be a top 10 pick.

Some people have said that he was 0+4, on which goal was the "missing" assist? I'm too tired to watch the highlights:)

It was on the goal where Timashov did all of the work. Alex gave the puck to the D behind his net who then passed it to Timashov who did the rest. He didn't do much there but I don't see the point in handing out secondary assists if they aren't correct.

Anyway, he's keeping it real simple so far. Would like to see him go for the difficult play more often, especially on the PP.

I thought he looked really good this game against the Swiss. He's actually a prospect who's really hard to find fault with. Any flaw is minor, and coachable. Worth mentioning he's got pretty decent size for his age. I would project him to be a 6'1" 190-200 lb NHL'r. He looks much stronger on his skates than William did at the same age. If he gets better as the tourney progresses, he might unseat a guy like Tkachuk from the top 5.

I actually hate the idea of having brothers on the same team, and in this instance, they would likely come with an over involved father. That said, I would have no reservations drafting Alex, solely on his own merit.

I think he'll end up in top 5 for sure. The fact that he's playing in OHL getting experienced with NA games and not to mention more scouts and visibility. Depending on how the tourny goes and how he does in OHL playoffs, he could rise
