Wouldn't mind the Isles taking a stab with 19 or even trading down.

I think some teams have him top 15, but if it´s the "right" teams the Isles could get an late extra pick with trading down a few spots. He could be gone, but it´s an great idea.

I would like to see Edm pick him at 32. Probably the highest skill player left and proven chemistry with McDavid. Even though he's small, the most important thing IMO is that he doesn't play like it, he's fearless.

I actually think there was a good chance the Oilers take Debrincat before yesterday but given the Oilers already drafted a RW in the first round(Puljujarvi) they might look to try draft a different position today

He's going to be an NHLer, I don't have too many doubts about that. He's a pest and he doesn't play like a small forward. He has no problem going to the dirty areas and he has a wicked shot. I think it's a great pick for Chicago.

Wow I read this whole thread. As a chi fan I like the pick. If he can get some weight on and maybe 5'9" we could have something. Seems to have an nhl motor and attitude.

yeah because every GM in the NHL has a hard on for size that doesn't even matter. This guy can take a BEATING and get up and score some more.

Size does matter. There are exceptions and players who excel while still being small but most don't. And given that DeBrincat isn't exactly an elite skater either, his size is an issue. I'm sure he'll have a long professional career, I just don't think it'll be in the NHL.

Just like there was a reason Brandon Saad wasn't taken til the 43rd pick?

You pick one of the few exceptions to the rule. Saad was still a great talent when he was drafted, he just sucked his draft year. He put it together, good for him. But most kids ranked in the first who drop end up out of the first round for good reasons.
