Larionov and?

Larionov has been doing all in his power to destroy Russian hockey.
Fetisov as he was the one person who literally was denied his wish to leave by Tikhonov and was in a war with him for a long time. Eventually they reconciled before Tikhonov's passing. Mostly because Fetisov is a wiser man than Larionov who never admitted to his "crimes". I still hold that past against Fetisov, no matter how he acts today.

Crimes? What crimes? What the hell are you talking about?

Can anyone post what the PPs looked like in the preliminary game against the Swiss? I assume the big line of Kravtsov-Denisenko-Kostin along with Alexeyeev were on PP1, but who was with them, and what did PP2 look like?
Is Starkov gonna see a decent amount of playing time (including PP) considering his previous success in international play?

I think, you should ask Hockey Canada aboit it. They've done everything, that people didn't get any information about pre-tournament games, if it wasn't Team Canada...

If someone is able to please @ the final cuts/roster when it's available it would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have.

Now official. Defencemen Artyom Volkov, Daniil Valitov and forwards Ivan Chekhovich, Artyom Nikolayev, Alexander Yaremchuk have left the camp.

Very logical cuts IMO, especially on defense. Least experienced smallest defenders with worst stats and experience got cut.

Forwards are understandable considering injuries and I'm happy Slepets and Podkolzin are in! Time to win gold now!! Soo excited for this team !

So for those, who might be confused: Team Russia won't submit a 23 player roster before the start of the tournament, instead they will probably submit something like 6D+12FW with two more open roster spots to be filled as the tournament is ongoing.

Anyone now the lines that was used against USA? or the ones that they will go with?

I could be wrong, but are there two players left to cut? It seems to me that there are 14 forwards left, no?

Bragin will take the best players regardless of where they play. He chose CHLer Chekhovich over Shafigullin who, next to Kravtsov, has the most KHL games under his belt for this year for any u20 russian forward.

Nonsense. Give me one CHLer that deserves to be on the roster that isn't.
Perhaps Maximov, but he's only good enough for the offensive role on the 4th line that can adequately be filled by Slepets or Podkolzin.

:eyeroll:

Not sure what to make of the Chekhovich situation. On one hand he was stupid for not telling them about a pre-existing ailment, on the other hand, what kind of 1970's training regiment do they have these kids doing DURING the season. That's beyond stupid to start piling on new training routines.

So Podkolzin has not yet officially made the team?

Because of these tricky conditions (not going for the 23 player roster initially) noone officially made the roster yet, waiting for them to submit the initial roster to IIHF.

I can't find anything too in depth on his situation. Can you elaborate on what happened? So he had a pre-existing injury?

I don’t recall Chekhovich missing any games with Baie Comeau this year due to injury…I’m assuming/hoping that it’s nothing too serious

Apparently around a year ago he had some issues with his back and doctors restrained him from lifting weights, but for some reason he didn't warn Team Russia coaches about that and went to the barbell with everyone else and it didn't end up well. Additionally, if I understood correctly from the comments on twitter that opponents were pretty harsh with him in the QMJHL recently, so that might had some impact too.

I have no more idea than anyone else as to what is going on, but this Chekhovich story sounds much too bizarre to be true. I thought I noticed a bit of an "attitude" that he carried during the Canada-Russia series, but it is only a perception. It seems as though something weird is going on with him, but if it is attitude, let's get past him to someone else who is in a frame of mind to fight!

Thanks players have been struck from my list :)

Thanks for that info, I'll make sure to note who still remains in "camp" in my rosters, once the initial roster is released.

What attitude problem? What bizarre situation?

These are just kids; kids who are dead-set on making the team. It’s understandable that a kid wouldn't want to disclose an ailment if it had the slightest chance of keeping him off the roster, even a slight nagging ache or pain.
Being an idiot 19 year old doesnt mean one has attitude issues.

Remember, a few years ago, Bragin cut (I *think* it was) Namestnikov because he failed to disclose an injury to the staff.
