I like the idea of limited time to get him more comfortable. Need him next year for this.

should be around 15 min a game right now

I think he should get more minutes too, but not too much more. Still would like to see him against weaker competition, and not the top 2 lines of any good West team.

My God...he leads the team in plus /minus at +15 in just 27 GP plus his scoring in that time is good.. Perhaps more minutes would dilute that so just keep up the present pace and we shall be happy with him...

At this point, it's clear he has very good offensive skills (despite the fact he's not nearly as swift as Leddy). He's been adequate defensively in relatively sheltered situations and limited minutes. But with increased confidence, his game is improving on both ends.

As another poster pointed out, he needs stress testing. Playing some w/Keith, he's gonna get that. Next step. Hopefully, he'll pass the audition.

So what's the good word on David round these parts? You guys happy with him?

Very happy. I like his offensive skill set a lot. Just needs to slowly build his confidence with more playing time. I like him paired with Keith too. I see Runblad as a #4 dman and power play specialist.
Glad Stan risked the 2nd round pick for him.
So Ottawa got Turris ( 3rd overall! )
Hawks with Runblad ( St. Louis' 17th overall ) ( which was parlayed into the 16th overall : Tarasenko )
and Phoenix with a late 2nd rounder

Looks like a win for both Ottawa and St. Louis with Chicago a potential winner and poor Phoenix has well somewhere in the 40th - 60th overall range.

He's been a pleasant surprise this year after a really rough go of it last season. His offensive instincts have progressed nicely and although he is still shaky in his own zone he has improved there as well.

I still think he hasn't reached his full potential yet either (fringe #4-solid #5).

This is coming from someone that was really down on him for a while as well.

Rundblad has been traded for Tarasenko, Turriss and now a top NHL prospect Dvorak. He's an alchemist leaving gold in his wake.

You had me running to Twitter and the Trade board to see if this was really true. I was so excited.

I really need to work on my sarcasm detector.

You mean, the same guy you took a shot at the Coyotes for for "taking a 14 point scorer in the OHL from Palos". ;)

Rundblad plays protected minutes. So does TVR. Can't bet the farm on these guys until we see them reliably put in more dangerous on ice situations. This is not to say that they can't or won't succeed, but only that they haven't proven it yet.

Rundblad played the toughest minutes in Sweden 4 seasons ago. I'm sure he will handle NHL level just fine in time.

Rundblad has come a long way. I no longer hold my breath every time he touches the puck in the defensive zone. He's making sound decisions with the puck instead of panicking and throwing it blindly around the boards. You see glimpses of his offensive ability that once made him PPG dman in the SEL.

I just wish he was a better skater. He would be A LOT more useful in Q's system.

He is still not done developing... he is a good player we should keep. Said it since we got him. Give him time
