I think Calgary wants to give Ortio a fair chance next year.

Don't be surprised if Ortio takes over next year as the #1 goalie on the Flames.

yes i was proposing signing ramo to a 2yr deal and shipping off hiller for a solid pick

I feel like it should be a third on our end...
why? all we are taking on is money and only a couple million extra. we would move up 10 spots and add a 4th. that is pretty fair. I also think Ward is the better of the 2 goaltenders.

Ya when I originally read that I read it as keep the second and throw in the third too. I'll show myself the door
it's late and your wisdom teeth hurt, let's blame FFF for wording it badly :sarcasm:

Semin, Ward, LA's 2016 1st + 35th for Hiller, Raymond, Smid + 53rd. Lots of great players in the 35 range . If Semin doesn't pan out, we retain a little salary and add one of our 1st's to move him for 2017. I'd really love to get that 2016 1st. The Kings seem like a team that's on the verge of trending down or even losing their identity. Lots of question marks on that roster next year.

100TG that is a pretty nice looking lineup, I wouldn't be complaining at all. Adding Oshie and Vermette up front would be huge. Getting Hamilton would be incredible and Erhoff is still quite solid as well.

I'm pretty sure Boston would match a $6M offer sheet. The price to get Hamilton would be higher with too many picks leaving.

Can they afford to? They are in a huge bind of they do. If they sign him for $6 million it leaves $1.756 million to sign (or call up and add the salaries of) 5 forwards, 2 defensemen and a goaltender. During the summer they can exceed the cap by 7.1 million, so that gives them 8.856 million for 8 players, then when the season starts Savard goes on LTIR and they still have to shed almost $5 million in salary.

They can't afford it but they also can't afford to ditch a potential number one defensemen who's what 22 years old. I would think they would just sign him and deal with the consequences and start a bit of a retool.

I think they'd get rid of some dead weight in the bottom 6 and maybe lucic too and like Taranis said, start a bit of a retool

then let them. I'd offer a trade first. I'd offer the 15th pick, Granlund and the 76th pick, if they say no then I make the offer on July 1st. Or I'd offer the 15th & Ferland for Lucic.

(1) Nice overall job.
(2) Versteeg at a $2.2M cap hit for only 1 year does not have negative value. He can easily be moved for some sort of pick.
(3) If the Blues move Oshie, it won't be for junk. THey'll have to be something decent (1st round pick, premium prospect) going back.
(3) Offer sheets cannot contain any NT language.

At first I was like why does 100TG's want Versteeg? then he buys him out.
I want nothing to do with Meier and Carlo. I think we could pull a third out of that DET deal.
Wideman + 45th for 19th + 3rd'16

Boston would trade most guys from their roster in order to match any Hamilton OS, with a few exceptions, and unless the offer is stupidly high.

i would trade two firsts, a second and Klimchuk for Douggie.

I would love Lucic, but trading Ferland or Poirier for him just doesn't make sense for a soon to be UFA. Klimchuk, 45 and 52. That's more then we got for Boumeester and it's a similar $ amount/ age / contract status as J-Bo.
