Please illustrate said moves. That salary chart above shows the Oilers have to sign 1 back up goalie, 5 forwards and have roughly $8 million dollars to do that with, even assuming the cap rises by $3 million or so ... that's still very tight.

Looking at this makes you realize how much better of a spot the team would be in if Pulju and Yam were even at least 3rd or 4th line NHLers.

Sekera is almost certainly getting bought out IMO.

Buyout Spooner and Sekera and we gain over 4 million. Let Rieder walk there’s another 2. Dump one of manning or Benning there’s another 2. Let Petrovic walk there’s another 2. That’s roughly 10 million right there with no bump in cap without losing any consequential players.

That would be a catastrophic hit to our long term cap, we can't be weighing down our long term cap with that many more buy-outs. That's extremely short sighted thinking and in 2-3 years I gauruntee people are cursing the fact that we have like a ton of dead cap on players not even on the team.

Those numbers are for 2019-20. Those guys have already "walked."

Spooner buyout is two years 1.333 Sekera is 2 years 2.5 then 2 years of 1.5. Within 2 years all but Sekeras 1.5 would be off the books.
