Fretting over waiver wire trash and PTOs is a very Oiler fan thing to do. I too thought Versteeg was a lock to sign, but Chiarelli has consistently filled gaps this off-season and I have to think something else is in the offing.

Yes, opening day is tomorrow but numerous clubs have balls in the air- Anaheim, Winnipeg, Buffalo, etc.

It would be unreasonable to think this is the final or even best roster until all of that is settled.

You actually miss this guy? He wasn't going to be an answer and he's on the Leafs roster because their defence flat out sucks. Hall and Larsson trade was discussed a billion times so I won't go there and Yakupov wanted out of Edmonton for a while now so what did you expect? Ryan Murray coming back to the Oilers for him?

All recent activity indicates to me that the org is confident Pulju is NHL ready. Stauffer has been pushing that idea since he was drafted.
