this doesn't explain why the Jets' assistant GM and cap specialist is at the Habs/Mtl game.
if you need a capologist involved in a trade, you'd want him in front of a computer and not scouting.

You want bold? I'm prepared to ship then Laine for a boatload. Sure, it may come back to bite us, but thats one team that has enough defensive & other good young player/prospects to get us well over the hump. And do this right, we clear up our caps issues, make us more than competitive for the next few years & best of all extend our window.
Yes, Laine is a huge dilema & a trading him is a huge gamble, but if we need to do something like shipping off Connor or Ehlers +++ to make the cap work anyway, lets go all in to make our team competitive. And yes losing a goal scorer like Laine would hurt immensely, but Connor, Ehlers & Scheif aren't chopped liver in that department either.

 I would agree but I think we would be forced to sell low on Laine as it stands now. If we could get what his real value as a player who scored 44 goals at 19, then I'd be willing.

Jeez, that buffalo trade was 5 years ago! Both Bogo and Kane were under contract for a relatively long term.

What I have proposed is a helluva lot more value than what we got from Buffalo for EK & Bogo so I am just baffled why you are bringing that up.

Trouba is, for all practical purposes a pending UFA. The rest of this year and that is what he will be.

OK, maybe the value for KC is better at Pesce + 1st. They should pick somewhere in the middle of the pack. I'm not sure that is more value than TVR. I think he is underrated. But I could be wrong. That pick wouldn't do anything for us next year. I think TVR would give us a pretty strong right side. If we keep him, we are better prepared for Buff declining, or leaving after 2 years.

If we don't take back 2 RHD then Trouba to Carolina falls apart completely. That doesn't bother you because you think you would have no trouble getting better elsewhere. I'm skeptical. It also ***** up my whole plan if we have to wait till the off-season to move Trouba. We are not setting up for this years PO's by having Pesce added to our right side plus a 1st when meanwhile we are down KC at LW.

I brought up EK+Bogo because you keep talking Trouba isn't at full value. It doesn't matter - Chevy will get a haul. Those two players were hardly at full value and Chevy got a huge haul for players not at full value. Bogos contract probably was even considered a negative at that time too.

Honestly, might even be Pesce+Necas depending on where they pick for Connor. a top 10-12 1st is vastly different than 25+. Might even take Slavin instead of Pesce.

I don't think we should trade Trouba to Carolina. we can move him to FLA for a package including Huberdeau

And then traded to Winnipeg?
If he signs with Ottawa then I doubt he gets traded to Winnipeg. It would jack up his trade value. He's only affordable as a trade acquisition for the Jets if he refuses to sign with Ottawa forcing the Sens to trade him as a pending UFA.

see my post yesterday regarding the necessity of a scout to attend a game in person. :)

your comment also doesn't explain the need for Ottawa and Wpg's GMs to meet face to face when we have technology.
and a scout can't use a laptop to plug in cap #s AND focus on scouting a game at the same time.

No .With the Jets . Im wondering if the Trouba situation has reached a point where guys just dont want him around.

All it takes is 1 bad apple to ruin the bunch really
Buff would have thrown Trouba's chemistry set in the shower by now .
