Well said. It looks like a lot but it’s more quantity than quality imo.. :dunno:

A lot of quantity with a bit of quality thrown in might tend to mask the quality. Petan and Stanley, I can easily part with. I can add Comrie with no problem. I have suspected for a while now that Roslovic will be a RW in the NHL. I don't think he is our Little replacement. Though it is still possible. He looks like being a pretty good RW though. I would have no problem trading him. Just not for a rental. His quality is above that. He might return us a nice D man somewhere else.

I'm not questioning that Stone > Perreault. I'm bringing up the issues this team has that has driven us to relying on such a short-term fix.

Lemieux's PDO streak might have some maddening long-term consequences.
Unless Lemieux's PDO streak allows a clever Chevy to trade him above his long-term value! That would be about the only realistic positive I see coming from it. If we trade Morrow to boot, then I may actually forgive Maurice for his roster decisions and laud his strategic vision... (But somehow it doesn't feel very plausible)

At this point Vegas's involvement reeks as a move to make us over pay. They got burned last year by actually going through with a prevent trade. I think this time it's a bluff.

I am finding it quite entertaining. Honestly I haven’t had this much fun with a “Will they won’t they” scenario since the team coming back rumors but the stakes were obviously much higher on that.

Even though I still think the best trade is no trade, I am enjoying the process. It will stop being fun in a hurry if it turns out badly though.

Edit: It stops being fun when somebody gets an eye poked out.

it's ironic, the player they got from PIT to retain some of Brassard's salary scored the GWG against the Jets in the elimination game

If Chevy wants to keep Maurice around, he will have to begin trading his toys away. Think Chia, Morrow, Tanev.

I was so hopeful when we bought out Stuart... It seems as though there are always more below replacement-level players to waste roster spots on (though I think Tanev would be a fine 4th liner)

I'd call that tragic, not ironic lol. He was hardly the overwhelming reason we lost.

That was beyond cruel. My only take from that was fate was against us that time but will be in our favor in the future. Everything happens for a reason. (I hope. Lol)

A quick look at prospects using Corsica | Prospects & Draft ... because of restrictions their restrictions, it's split by seasons and such; ordered by WAR/82. Adding in some other common names thrown in here...

Wouldn't surprise me if Ottawa comes back saying it's between Vesalainen or Glass to see who blinks first.

The let Vegas give up Glass and stand pat, that's an insane price for a rental.
Exactly if they are willing to tank for the next 5 years so be it. There is a line in the sand and I dont think Chevy will cross it. I'll be honest if I was Vegas I'd be more worried about Nashville getting panarin.

I think it's more complicated then that. Stone may be pushing for the Jets. He may want to sign long term here rather than Vegas.

Why do you think Stone has so much say in this?

He wants Wpg, Sens trade him to Vegas. What does Stone do?

Personally I think the Stone wants to play in Winnipeg is way over blown, Stone if he goes to free agency will sign with the team that gives him the most amount of money with the longest term with a good bit of being bonus money . JMO and if I was in his shoes that's what I would do

Not sign with Vegas diminishing the return, if dorion is smart he puts in conditional picks upon signing anywhere but if he knows that he will sign an extension with the Jets the moment he gets here he can get more tangible assets than picks.

Yeah but what if Arizona is that team? They likely aren't but what if?
There are lots of things that likely go through players minds when signing.
1. Family influence
2. Location
3. Are they a contender?
4. Do I care if they are a contender?
5. Tax situation
6. Endorsement situation

A leaked rumour that Winnipeg-boy Stone wants to only sign in Winnipeg would certainly diminish Vegas willingness to part with their top end prospects like Glass... if, of course, that were true.

When there was talk that the Coyotes were maybe about to relocate to Winnipeg who was the player that said he didn't want to come to Winnipeg because in Arizona he come to the rink in flip flop and sandals, some said they would retire( like that would happen) it's all about being comfortable and money in most cases winning has become less a priority, Florida plays in front of nobody but I bet none of those players want to leave.
