Sometimes miracles
You can get that in a guy who would make similar money, but that guy is 6'2"+ 210 lbs+ and can be a tough guy in a pinch lolBecause he provides 'grit and energy' according to Bob.

Because we don't have any other option. This is what our depth has become. Last year they would have called up like Holloway, this year we call up Cagguila lol.Why Cagguila?
Savoie OR Philp to replace McDavid makes sense.
Give Henrique some top 6 time if Philp is called up.
Give Savoie top 6 W after shifting Nuge to C.
You win.I'd call up Savoie, Philp, and Caggulia.
Hyman - Draisaitl - Savoie
Podkolzin - Nuge - Arvidsson
Janmark - Henrique - Brown
Caggulia - Philp - Perry
no one should be surprised by Cagguila, he's leading the Condors in points and has NHL experience
Savoie is kinda useless outside of the top-6
I am a little surprised they recalled him AND Philp though, figured it would be one or the other
Lavoie isn’t exactly lighting it up in Henderson.Don’t worry guys, Cagguila is on his way.
Losing Lavoie because JJ/SB had their heads up their ass twice is even more annoying now.
For a team that has literally has no farm team, I’m not sure why we didn’t sign like 3 AHL fringe forwards that were still young and have some potential.

McDavid being lost to us isn't bad enough news. Then the org announces Cags coming up and be thankful for it.Because he provides 'grit and energy' according to Bob.

Eat your Liver and brussel sprouts and learn to like it.
Nah, I'll go hungry..
I'm actually in fear because Yamabama was on waivers. oh nooooooos
He was noticeably feisty in Pre-Season too. Not that that's saying much, our Prospect pool and call up pool isn't great.According to scouts he’s played well
jk aside The team is heeding a player with NHL experience and probably low event play vs somebody with less experience.Yep, my thoughts exactly. Good on Caggiula for playing well in the AHL, but he is what he is as in a good AHL player. Would have rather called up Savoie to add a speedy offensive potential sparkplug to a team that's lacking in offensive talent right now.
In fairness I thought he was decent. Bit of energy and skating but without the goals. Still seems to wheel around a lot.He was noticeably feisty in Pre-Season too. Not that that's saying much, our Prospect pool and call up pool isn't great.
Well they lost 3-0 and 4-1. Tough to win when you don't score. The team DID show up for 2 of those games and goaltending was the primary reason we lost them. money puck had the oilers at something like 80%+ winning chance for 2 of those games if memory serves correctly.
High Motor and High Energy. Got erased alot, but the effort was there in spades.jk aside The team is heeding a player with NHL experience and probably low event play vs somebody with less experience.
The plus side is team not panicking, feeling they will get goals from somewhere, and just having a Cag as a Cog
I'm surprised this makes some sense in my head. A good walk (not golf) did me good. haha.

Somebody call Sam Gagner. heh could he be worse than some of the guys we have. One thing Sam always gave is enthusiasm and a love to be in any game. sigh. This years roster is a bit harder to like.
Skinner slides up. He's been on the 3rd line and they haven't done much lately. Might as well get him in the mix in the top 6 again. I just dont really like him with DraisaitlThat may be so, but the injury is to their 1C. So they may want to consider calling up a guy that might be able to plug into the top 6 somewhere
Ryan sucked in the playoffs too. Total wagoner that drags us down.Wonder if the Cagguila element is a message sender.
Say what you want about Cagguila, but I'm fairly confident in saying that if he gets into the lineup he's going to work his bag off, play in straight lines, and not be afraid to play physically. Pick any one of Janmark or Brown (probably Janmark) to take out and not put him in again until there's a reason to so they can be reminded what hard work and playing on your toes looks like.
Ryan should be coming out for Philp even if McDavid wasn't injured. Ryan is playing like total dog shit, and shouldn't be considered a main roster player anymore.

You're kidding right? They have tons of veterans, they have a HHOFer as a #1C, and he's in NO WAY expected to replace McDavid. Can't think of a worse environment to throw a young, inexperienced offensive player into at the moment. This group that currently considers "aw shucks, bad puck luck!" as an approach to changing our offensive fortunes isn't a good place for a young player to find his way.
Players like this need to be handled carefully, and should only come up at a time when they have some games under their belt and are playing well/scoring a lot. All it takes is a call up where they play ~10 games and get few to no points to blast a player's confidence on the way down. I don't conceive any way this isn't the outcome if we called him up right now.
I don't think Savoie has really gotten it going offensively this season, I agree with the sentiment but if the idea is that McDavid is only going to miss a few games, I don't mind leaving Savoie down until he starts producing at a higher clip in the AHL.Calling up Caggiula instead of Savoie is typical Oilers of recent years.
Call up do nothing vets who have zero upside and bring nothing to the table while alienating your actual prospects.

Idk man. I've seen too much of this shit with the likes of previous mistakes with Broberg and Holloway for example. I'm not saying Savoie is the answer to unlock the Oilers mistakes right now, but for a team that's lacking in offensive juice right now, I'm not on the Caggiula train. Guy's an AHL player at best.
