McCann and Dickinson aren’t world beaters but they’d add speed and skill to the lineup.

Why do the Oilers never acquire the obvious players? The ones that you know will help your team. It’s been 15 years of this, never acquiring these types and watching other teams get useful players for nothing while we struggle to get blood from a stone.

Guessing edmonton was on his no trade list and or Holland didn't like his caphit and injury history.

I'm not beat up about that one

Not sure where i read it but Oilers are on tarasenkos list on teams he would accept a trade too. Hes got 2 years left on his deal wht better way to ensure u get another huge contract by padding your stats riding shotgun to 2 best centers in the league.

Too many fans drink the koolaid here, so no, people are not seeing how crazy this is.

All Holland had to do was literally wait until today in order to get a much better deal for Keith.

What do people think Jones and a third are worth?

Seriously?

I get people are stuck on the retention but Chicago wasn’t retaining under any circumstance unless we gave them a player like Samorukov, McLeod, or Bear.

This org hasn’t evolved since the early 90s.

Seriously think there’s a bad case of “smartest man in the room” syndrome going on at Oilers HQ. Deliberately ignoring the obvious good assets and thinking they can do better with the non traditional route.

Always been the case. And it's pretty much always the case that the guy who thinks his gut is a genius also thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

I would say that 3 pretty decent draft picks just to dump a contract is a pretty hefty price.

But i suppose thats a matter of opinion.

It is a very steep price to pay. I guess in hindsight, if we didn't deal the 2 second round picks for AA as well as the Keith trade, we would have an extra 11 mil to play with. Although Holland with an extra 11 mil would probably do more harm than good. It would be like giving a 10 year old 100 dollars to buy groceries.
