So... We ever going to see Chia put a stamp on this team?

I have a feeling now its going to be trade for another weak D prospect at the draft and hope for the best.

Keep in mind Chiarelli has been on the job for one year. One.

My blind speculation thought. I wonder if the Oilers ask Chicago about Seabrook. Terrible year in regards to advanced shot metrics. Career year in regards to offensive production. Not saying it would necessarily be a smart move. But wouldn't be surprised if Chia asked. Would solve the Blackhawks cap problems.

So ...we ever going to wait until after draft and free agency before we start to judge an off season?

Right now, this is all just coming across as some pretty severe impatience. Got to give the man some time. The season just ended a less than a week ago and things don't reallt start to happen until the draft (or day before).

I'd say wait until July 7th or so. That tends to be around the time that teams pack it up for the year and rosters are set. From the draft until that point is the busiest time of roster turnover. If nothing has happened by that point, then it's time to worry.

Thats the type of deal i see happening. Not Seabrook necessarily, but just a guy who hasnt been discussed.

Seabrook is a big risk. He wouldn't be cheap to acquire because the Hawks need him and he's still a good player, but that contract is uuuuuugly.

Stone and 7 for 4 and... Something. Yakupov?

Goligoski might give them some flexibility, he can play either side.
I'd really like to see Chia take a run at David Savard. I could see him being a 40 pt plus defenseman as an Oiler, affordable contract 4.25 per, 25 years old, RH shot, 6'2" 220 plus pounds...wonder what it would take to get him

Apparently fans of the in cap hell blue jackets think it will cost us RNH +...

It would depend on how much salary Chia adds because the LTIR doesn't help with the bonuses that Mcdavid, Draisaitl, etc would get at the end of the year.

Isn't the LTIR contract off the books (cap wise) once the season starts? If it's season long, isn't the contract gone as far as cap space? Beginning the season should be fine with bonuses not counting until the players qualify for them.
Please explain.

I'd love to land him. Just don't know what the deal would look like? Maybe we send them Pouliot+Yakupov for Foligno and Savard. Clears quite a but of salary for them. I dunno though if they consider Foligno a cap dump yet.

Foligno at 5.5 for another 4 years has me uninterested. Just too long.
