Marek says (8:45 mark) this past summer two other teams tried to recoup their own picks and put together the compensation package to offersheet both Broberg and Holloway.
One of those teams was Calgary. Go f*** yourself, Conroy.

Furthermore, I saw yesterday that Calgary was trying to recoup picks to offersheet Broberg and Holloway but neither one had any interest in signing with the Flames.

I would do that deal in a second if we had the luxury of dealing Bouchard and still having a strong D core. As it sits now it would be one of the dumbest things management could do, so it’s probably true…
So Sanderson and Yakemchuk for Bouchard. I'd be scratching my Ass too!

Colin Chaulk is a terrible development coach. The powerplay is being run through Seth f***ing Griffith. You have a top OFFENSIVE PROSPECT.. a TOP 10 PICK on your roster. You should be running the PP through him.

Also why the hell is Wanner on third pair? He has AHL vets and his bed buddy Dineen playing so much while Wanner plays meaningless hockey.

Does this guy care about development or just winning?
Savoie leads the team in PP points haha.

And Wanner has been on the third pair because he's been significantly worse this year than last year when Chaulk had him playing top pairing minutes for most of the season.

That ain't Chaulk's fault.

Imagine the Oilers were lucky enough to pick up Fabbro off waivers or traded for him at 50% off
Luck doesn't enter into it. Of course Columbus got him. They have cap space to burn. They took him thinking he could fail. We don't really have that luxury, as much as I criticize management. If they were forward thinking they could have spent a little extra to get the retention needed to minimize the risk

As a fan I'm not crying about any one missed opportunity. I'd just like them to make a move, and other teams are doing them. If they are waiting for a better moment, I'm fine with that too, but until then I'm joining with the mob that says that the status quo ain't cutting it

I'd rather they be lucky enough for our D to have his 1.100 PDO.

Bouchard would be outscoring the opposition 42-9 with that haha.
Fabbro would be great even if he didn't score at all. He's a legit top 4 D eating minutes and carrying the play. It's not a coincidence that the Jackets resurgence coincided with getting Fabbro. I'm not saying he's as good as Werenski but he's a perfect 2nd pairing RD (based on limited info, but still)

Well we should always do that anyways lol.

But the Blues, they still deserve to get a payback. Just wait and bide our time for the perfect opportunity.
Blues need to be revenged

As for the Flames, I believe they will implode soon but who knows?

We need to play nice because they have the absolutely perfect trade piece for our team: Andersson. I'm betting we get someone else but we need to keep that possibility open as plan A

I wouldn't even waste time on Andersson. Like we shouldn't have wasted time on Lindholm last year. Our interest in Andersson only helps the Flames, and hurts us by wasting our time. The Flames will NEVER trade a piece to help us. Ownership has made it very clear over there that they are petty like that.

Well if its true that Holloway wanted 1.5 and Broberg wanted 1.8 and we said no, then that was a major screw up by the Oilers. FFS we threw 3 mil at Skinner, 900k at Ryan, 1.1 at Perry. Thats poor GMing :) Even at 2.2 for Holloway, not matching was ridiculous.

Yep. Wouldn't trade Tanev to us, tried to acquire picks in order to offersheet both Broberg and Holloway. Conroy and crew can get f***ed. They'd rather get a shittier return for Andersson instead of trading him to us 100%.

Hopefully Bouch takes the omission personally. Pietrangelo? Really?

I don't care about the Bouch snub tbh. Our best players aside from Connor get to rest at least. I just find it hiliarious that Parayko's on the roster. Way better options aside from Bouch. Doug Armstrong picking favorites.

If true. I think that's more likely to be our offers then their asks. But something in that range might have made sense considering games played and performance in their regular seasons last year and RFA status. I don't know, I'd have like to keep them, i'm over it.

I’m guessing Bouchards awful Defense is the reason he will get left off this roster and rightfully so. He can be a complete train wreck at times.
