I believe Mark Stone is going to start playing tomorrow. He has been out quite a while.

This was just the seed planting. He will go back out come FEB

Finally, only took like 5 replies for you to admit you were wrong. Thanks, I guess.

Maybe go look at my OP, I never said Ceci was great. I said Nurse was the worst (he was, using your own stats) and that Ceci took the brunt of the blame, because it's a lot easier for fans to admit that, than Nurse the most unmoveable of contracts, was absolutely terrible. I said Ceci was fine as a 3rd pair guy, and that if we got someone like Jiricek, a vet in that mould would also be ideal or else we would be thin on the right side if Jiricek failed to fit in by playoffs. Had we been in on Jiricek, we wouldn't have the trade capital to get a great top 4 rental too, so we would be stuck with the Ceci's of the world. Ceci has the benefit of knowing our systems, so no need to give him a bunch of minutes trying to get him to fit by playoffs, and he oddly showed up offensively in some big games which is always a plus. Neither of those show up on your spreadsheets though, so I guess I should have realized you wouldn't get it.

Again, not an endorsement that he should be the top 4 guy, but rather that I would be fine with him as a cheap, failsafe addition had we been in on a young guy who may or may not be ready for big minutes. The only reason I would be fine with this, is because Kulak and Nurse have both looked great, Stecher and Emberson have looked nice too, so our D isn't so much of an issue this year it seems. But that extra depth is crucial in the playoffs.

You need to really calm down, you got so worked up that your now keyboard yelling to go on top of your f*** up earlier with reading your precious spreadsheets.
lol. Ceci is bad.

Dude, you need to calm down. You’re so worked up your last paragraph made no sense. Geez, is that spreadsheet comment a new one? No one has ever made that comment before. You should go on tour with that joke.

Again- Ceci sucked everywhere he played. He is bad.

It's still a big F you to our organization. Some have wondered if it happens if Holland was still here... I know the Wings never forgave Fedorov for his offer sheet. Won't raise his jersey for that issue too. Maybe it ain't 100% logical. They still f***ed us and I've held grudges for much less in Hockey.
Fair enough, but I think the best course of action is just try and win a cup and Broberg and Holloway can wonder what may have been at some point in their career.

I just look at the Dustin Penner offer sheet and the crazy feud it caused between Burke and Lowe, yet in the end it sort of worked out for everyone….

Penner was frustrating, but ok for the most part.

The picks we gave up didn’t turn into a whole bunch. The Ducks traded out of the 12th pick (Tyler Myers) for later 1sts (Jake Gardiner 17th, 28th OA traded for two 2nds that were misses). The 43rd pick was Justin Schultz who never played a game for them, ironically signing with us. The 73rd pick was Kirill Petrov.

Then you have Burke’s biggest grievance - that the Penner OS would blow up the 2nd contract for guys coming out of their ELC. So he ended up ponying up more for Perry and Getzlaf (5 yr deals @ 5.33 mil per), where both would greatly outperform those deals.

Point being, by the time the tables turned where maybe the Ducks could exact revenge for the Penner offer sheet, nobody on either side really cares.

Gotta love Holloway tonight. Playing with Bob Tom and Kyrou. Hope he kicks the doors down the rest of the season.

He sadly would not have gotten the chance with the Oilers.

Nuge, Hyman, Kane, Skinner, Arvedsson, ---The more I look at how the roster was on July 10th the more I understand why Holloway left--Broberg can get stuffed

With respect to Chaulk what I feel like our AHL group has generally got better at with him in charge is most players have improved defensively and have improved at managing risk, players we call up rarely feel raw or make braindead decisions.

What I haven't seen improve is players offensive ability or signature/defining skills. In general I'd say the d-men have progressed pretty well under him relative to their skill level and the forwards have only narrowly improved and often stall out. With what his strengths are as a coach you'd almost think he'd be good at turning out the Moreau, Pisani, Reasoner types, but I think the characteristic that is lacking is he isn't instilling a tireless work ethic, if your skill level is a 6/10 your work ethic has to be atleast a 9/10 on a regular basis to make the NHL.

Also our AHL PP% is 8% which is unbelievably brutal, which I think the coaching staff has to wear.

Stauffers words of wisdom today are the Oilers #1 goal is to acquire a 2nd pair Dman and he said it’s pretty telling that Jeff Jackson said they have to ice the best team possible and do their job as management
At the same time Jackson on the broadcast today (2nd intermission) doing his best to say how good Stu Skinner is. Bob follows it up with the same rhetoric. Rishaug on Nielsen’s show said Skinner makes team Canada. Seriously, there must have been a memo sent out

Management blinders are still on in terms of goaltending.
No chance Skinner makes the team, his numbers are more comparable to a bad back-up than a bad starter.
He's played decent the last couple of games but that's part of the problem, inconsistency. And his bad is real bad.
Tired of the team (and fans) having to walk on egg shells every time he starts.

If a 1-0 lead is too much for this team to overcome then they can hit the links early.
