How can we be done? replacing Ekholm for Barrie does not put us over the top. Replacing Puljujarvi for Bjugstad does not put us over the top. Another big move is needed. Ship salary out with picks and prospects for another great player.

Teams do this all the time. Get it done man wtf.

Team would be a lot more dangerous with an upgrade on Ceci and Yamamoto. Holland has a lot of picks still to do stuff if he wants to.

I think the biggest need to fill for this club remains a RW. Yamamoto's production and health just aren't there.

If he's going on LTIR - they have more than 3M to go shopping (scenario 1). If he's not going on LTIR, they have about 850K (Shore's contract) plus or minus (scenario 2).

Than means at 50% retained they can afford a 6M forward or 2 3M forwards (scenario 1) or a 1.7M player (scenario 2). At 75% retained they can afford a 12M player or two 6M players in scenario 1 or a 3.4M player in scenario 2.

They can push it if they move out Janmark or Ryan (I doubt they would move either).

I'd target Conor Sheary. Low cost. Cup winner. LW/RW. Probably a 4th round pick to acquire him. He's a good insurance policy on Yamamoto and the sort of player that you can have as your 13th forward entering the playoffs.

I could see a universe where they look at a veteran D like Gavin Bayreuther or Radko Gudas. I think they are pretty confident on Vinny and Broberg - but I think you need 9 solid guys for a playoff run and we only really have Niemelainen as a no. 8 guy. Demers and Kemp aren't really good options in a pinch.

I would still like them to try and bring in Nemesnikov, he would come cheap and he's a vet who can play in the top-9 in all 3 forward positions.

I usually dont mind Rishaug and his ho-hum attitude but hes been unbearable. He thinks our defence is worse this year than last year.in his mind:

Keith+Barrie+Russell > Ekholm+VD+Broberg


I think this team really loves Yamamoto because hes a small guy that gives it his all and when you see that you realize you have no excuses. I'd imagine that last top 6 spot is his to lose.

I dont think Rishaug is over Barrie yet.

Ekholm + VD + Broberg are clearly better. Still wish we could upgrade the RD though.
