Mentioned this in another thread, Biz isn’t gonna risk his TV career over nothing.
I've got it on solid sources that after the Broncos bus accident, when Babs volunteered to "help" with the ID camp in Saskatoon that it did not go well and that he stormed out in a fit that it wasn't "his show". It was part of the reason I was so hesitant that the Oilers could look his way after firing Dave Tippett, I have VERY litte faith he had changed his ways from Toronto. I haven't heard great things about his time with the U of S either.

If it walks like and egotistical prick, and talks like an egotistical prick; he's probably just an egotistical prick. The sooner he's out of the NHL the better.

Islands in the stream.
Remember Bear, Marincin and others. They came up and looked great only to drop back to to low-end players or AHLers. You would be the first one to point out a hot start by any Oiler prospect means nothing as it a small sample size. Lets see if Kostin does it over a few season before anoint him the second coming.
Kostin was a highly touted first round pick. He would have been easily topten pick without injury. He had one of the best shots in his draft class. He still has that cannon. The guy shipes quick release shots as well as anybody on the team. The guy can crank 95MPH shots. He has hands around net too and good accuracy. Thats just on the scoring front. he also skates well and dominates physically. He brings a lot of aspects. How on Earth is he comparable to the muppet players you listed?

Did you read that article? I just assumed the NHL was sewering them, but there is something drastically wrong with that company. Also curious if it's 17mil or 24mil, but that's not the real issue lol.

To me it really looks like this company wasn't doing to shit hot before the NHL and that they were hoping with the NHL their sales would skyrocket. I mean they kinda did by doubling, but they must've thought they would've done a lot better. Either that or they used the Ryan Howard fixed costs pricing model

Sales are at least growing, as BioSteel booked $24 million worth of sales revenue in the first three months of 2023 — more than twice as much as the same period the year before.

But its cost for those sales eclipsed $90 million, and other expenses topped $114 million, including about $12 million in advertising and promotional costs related to its NHL sponsorship; in 2022, the company was named the league's "official hydration partner."

I know a bunch that like it, but I also know a bunch that don't like the container. Whether it's because it looks like a juice box or because it doesn't fit properly in a lot of round cup holders lol.
I wonder how much is on Bio Steel versus their parent company, Canopy , the cannabis company. They have been bleeding red ink and shrinking their operational footprint for a while now. May be looking to protect Bio Steel short term from creditors, get things shored up so they can flip it and recoup some investment that way…

edit - oops, I see @Fourier has mentioned similar…

Oddly enough they play zero games at Mullet in pre-season lol.

One game at Wichita AHL team, Texas stars, Coachella firebirds and one at Tucson Roadrunners.

Could make the joke why they are playing in AHL barns for a good chunk of pre-season, but not like Mullet is any better lol
The AHL barns are nicer

Cereal is dangerous. I don’t buy it often because I binge the shit out of it.
It’s too expensive now. I used to go nuts on Corn Pops and captain crunch when they’d go on sale for 2 bucks a box. Now on sale is like 4.50 it’s out of control.

I’ve been to 2 NHL games last season at Mullet. It’s a great venue to watch an NHL game. Seriously it is. But it’s NOT an NHL arena for sure. I went to the arena in Palm springs last year to a show (not AHL game). That’s a pretty nice venue and beats Mullet as a venue. But you have to remember they were built to service different primary purposes. Acrisure is AHL and higher level touring acts. Mullet was for the SunDevils and 1970/80 yesteryear artists, like Pat Benetar (my kind of music!).

Oh man don’t even get me thinking about Hawkins Cheezies.
I take a case with me in the fall when I head to Arizona for the winter. I have to ration them, lol!

Good old Cap’N Crunch. The roof of your mouth takes an absolute scarring but it’s so good you can’t stop

If losing Kostin messes up our bottom 6 like you think we have bigger issues. Kostin is a dime a dozen player. Doesn't have a clue about playing defensive hockey. Just maybe if we had a couple real good defensive players on the team our d wouldn't be a concern.
As much as I liked Kostin, I feel like Holloway SHOULD be able to replace what Kostin brought but with better two way play. The void that wasn't filled was Bjugstad but Woodcroft likes to run 11-7 in the regular season anyway so not sure how much of a loss he'd be but come playoff time, they'll need center depth.

Is Tahiti Treat ever going to be a thing again?
Pure sugar and pink food colouring. My 8 year self wishes it would come back. But my adult self says this might be better, ;)

edit - stopping the non NHL banter now or else we are gonna get heck from some posters. It’s getting a tad off topic. :)

I believe that you hit their plan on the nail. They want to clear Bio Steel's balance sheet so they can sell it.

This is how I feel as well. Other than fighting I think the Holloway brings much of the same things to the table. He is a better skater, does not have Kostin's shot but is willing to play a physical game.

Players like Bjugstad, who I liked, are always available cheaply at the deadline.

Yeah Holloway is a bull, I’m looking forward to the kid finding his confidence. I think he’ll be a more effective player then Kostin overall in the long run.

Kostin in my opinion was riding an unsustainable S% and expecting his results to continue with increased minutes and role is a bit foolish. Detroit can risk a 2x2 contract on a player like that and they lack depth options so they can afford to give him the minutes and pp time to give him a boost. Oilers didn’t have that luxury and couldn’t afford to gamble on a deal like that for a guy who was shooting 20% for a 30 game stretch.

They played it right in my opinion. Pumped an asset that had no value and then used it to create cap space, which is the most valuable asset league wide right now.

The cheapest option is abstaining. Or growing your own. Not that anybody asked.

The bolded is a sign of the deplorable times we live in. Liquor store and potstore on every 2nd block located next to a daycare. Everything is worse in BC though. At least theres that.
The crazy thing is I live in a decent area and there’s another 4 liquor stores in the same vicinity. All the area needs is some rub n tugs and it’s Stoney Plain road.
