Did you read that article? I just assumed the NHL was sewering them, but there is something drastically wrong with that company. Also curious if it's 17mil or 24mil, but that's not the real issue lol.

To me it really looks like this company wasn't doing to shit hot before the NHL and that they were hoping with the NHL their sales would skyrocket. I mean they kinda did by doubling, but they must've thought they would've done a lot better. Either that or they used the Ryan Howard fixed costs pricing model

Sales are at least growing, as BioSteel booked $24 million worth of sales revenue in the first three months of 2023 — more than twice as much as the same period the year before.

But its cost for those sales eclipsed $90 million, and other expenses topped $114 million, including about $12 million in advertising and promotional costs related to its NHL sponsorship; in 2022, the company was named the league's "official hydration partner."

I know a bunch that like it, but I also know a bunch that don't like the container. Whether it's because it looks like a juice box or because it doesn't fit properly in a lot of round cup holders lol.
I agree about the container. Annoying shape. Tasty drink. Had more stuff in it than other sports drinks and was like 15-20 calories a pop

I prefer the other brands for the bottle as I re-use them for protein drinks on my way to work.

I literally if I'm buying "sports" drinks just look for whatever is on sale. There isn't one that just blows my mind that I have to have it every time I buy one. Still haven't tried that prime shit even though it had a ton of social media hype. Always stupid prices

Why wouldn't Colorado just sign Halak? They aren't in a cap situation to be taking on a goalie with that kind of term.
They would, that's why I include Holloway to really make the deal enticing.

Need speed and intestinal fortitude to drive the net. To beat Colorado you need speed and more speed in the bottom 6.

We might have more cap space if we drafted better. We wouldn’t be scrambling in free agency and overpaying to fill holes cause they’d already be filled.

RD is our most glaring weakness. RW a bit weak too, were relying on a year long injury recovery player to step in and hopefully fill one RW spot, the other spot still in limbo but I guess Hyman can play his off wing. Bottom 6 depth was decent last year, but losing Kostin makes that another area that needs improvement again.
If losing Kostin messes up our bottom 6 like you think we have bigger issues. Kostin is a dime a dozen player. Doesn't have a clue about playing defensive hockey. Just maybe if we had a couple real good defensive players on the team our d wouldn't be a concern.

It's the best sports drink I tried. Buy the big box from Costco. Like it way better than the rest and it's not expensive
I could make a better sports drink from literally anything in my garden. This "sports drink" stuff is mostly processed garbage. Few if any of these drinks even substantiate through independent, and replicated findings what benefit their drinks serve.

Used to train at World Health Club. They started to have a booster juice at each location selling faux healthy drinks. lol Orange julius is probably better for you. Almost anything is.

"Biosteel" lmfao.

The one thing that consumers sports drinks says about a user is that they will buy anything.

You know whats good to drink for your health and for working out? Water.

A "Dime a dozen" player that scored 14 goals on limited minutes, had solid numbers offensively or defensively and was one of our most effective players in the playoffs, when the team bothered to play him.

Your post is like you heard something somewhere and you would just repeat the nonsense.

It's largely junk for amateur hour athletes, however for an actual pro athlete, the sugar/carb spike from any of those drinks can be useful, especially when you're hitting a wall (or about to). But these guys are burning a massive amount of calories and sweating a ton during the course of a game.

Wayne Gretzky would scarf down Snickers bars and Diet Cokes in between periods or before games and that's fine, but you're also talking about an athlete who's body is used to probably ripping through 1000-1500 calories in the course of a couple of hours.

The problem comes in when "Joe Average" thinks they should be chugging a giant size Gatorade every day at home. It's not going to turn you into Michael Jordan. By and large yes, stick to water.

It needs improvement. Not messed up. And if Kostin is a dime a dozen player in this League, then he’s more like a Dime every 3 dozen with the Oilers, cause he’s been a better bottom 6 addition than like 30+ other guys we’ve tried this past decade.

Looks like the league needs a new sports drink partner

It's a brutal business space. I had one once, it's not too bad but it just tastes "unnatural". The thing is if you're driving the sugar free Stevia variant, there's really no point, it's not doing anything for the body and you should stay away from sweetners like that.

How often have we ever acquired a player that came in, scored at that rate and was as physical and effective as Kostin was during his stay here ? Kane is the only one that comes to mind imo.

Bjugstad would've been a safer bet to be worth his AAV than Kostin just based on his track record. The flat cap robbed us of retaining those 2 and having a really strong bottom 6. Hopefully some of the young guys and PTO's step in and do wonders in bolstering our bottom 6.

True. But Kostin is the safer bet if you want someone that can potentially exceed his cap hit value. We shoulda kept him for the ceiling he presents.

Yep. Nothing says your a marketing mark like people that run around a gym with their sports drink. Theres no study anywhere that concludes anything but that these drinks are actually bad, if anything, for you. They are not health drinks. They are heavily marketed drinks. They're for the people that get a little wet just thinking they are drinking the same stuff that Connor McDavid and others market.

In another era these same people would be chowing down "Prostars" for breakfast lol. As if Wayne ever ate the garbage. He ate Count Chocola. ;)

They should teach more in school. Like how to avoid being an easy target for even the worst marketing.

This biosteel business is a lol case study. Several times more spent on marketing than sales and product. But stuff like this is attempted because its generally considered that consumers are stupid.

I drink about 12 glasses of water a day lol. I liked the ingredients in Biosteel compared to the other trash on the market. Tasted better to me than Gatorade, etc. Less sugar and junk. More vitamins. Cheap to buy. I use it here and there if I still feel tired or dehydrated. Really use the drink if I am golfing and out a long time.

I like making a daily protein shake that has a ton of vitamins and minerals in it as well as 1 or 2 healthy meals with Intermittent fasting.

Maybe Biz was right? LOL Babcock has lost the room before even starting

Babcock was always going to be walking on eggshells with his old school approach and all these young kids in their youth 11-20 years of age know babs as a huge douche. All it takes is one of these kids(high profile first rounder) to say f*** this guy and he’s gone.

I mean if my job was dependant on me showing personal info to a superior (whom I know has a past history of being a douche) and I’m uncomfortable with it but fear for my own job and lively hood I’m going above his head to embarrass him.

he has no respect from the new young generation because they all know him as a C You next Tuesday.

Free trip to Australia isn't a bad get out of deal, though watch all the PTOs will just play at Mullet (for the family ticket grab I mentioned) lol

Remember Bear, Marincin and others. They came up and looked great only to drop back to to low-end players or AHLers. You would be the first one to point out a hot start by any Oiler prospect means nothing as it a small sample size. Lets see if Kostin does it over a few season before anoint him the second coming.

yup. It’s a fact edm’s bottom 6 has struggled for years. Finally Edm gets a big fast player who can score and they wave goodbye. Mark my words, if kostin gets the minutes in Detroit he could start to take off. I really do feel like edm Really missed out not signing him Again. edm’s current bottom 6 took a step back this year.
