$2-3M ain't bad, but seems like pennies when you're likely making the roster worse and pushing a good young player out of the lineup(Emberson) and losing another(Stastney).

Long term it's great, but making the roster worse next year is a mistake. People seem to be sure Nurse is going to return a decent player. Surely there's something other than Risto out there.

I think we can get a less onerous return on Nurse once Risto and Reilly get moved, the defenseman market then becomes very thin and there's little help in UFA.

Oh man we really gotta stop paying a fortune for PKers. Keep that cap open for bigger impact players, this team doesn't have the juice in the playoffs if all they're going to keep doing is riding McDavid + Drai + Hyman into the ground.

Mikheyev is both healthier and more consistent than Kap. He also has built in chemistry with Dickinson from their time together with the Hawks. 18-20 goals/30 points for around $4M is not crazy in this market and then you don’t have to worry about the third line again for years.

It's too much money spent on the 3rd line, we're going to get killed if we ever have to play a higher end team.

Draisaitl for example seems to get injured by round 2/3 of every playoffs, leaving McDavid to have to carry a crazy amount of load.

I agree. In fact, I also think its time to let Babs do what he wants to. I feel like the Oilers will keep Leon and McDavid together. It's time to create a strong 2nd line instead of just relying on Leon and McDavid to work both lines etc. Use your money for the top six. Not a 3rd liner

They just gave Dickinson $4 Million, and he has been a 10-20 point guy for most of his career. They would have to give Mikheyev $5-6 Million, given he plays a defensive role like Dickinson but is also a consistent 30-point scorer.

If its 4 million, then its fine.
 
The Oilers should hold their cap space provided they get some from Nurse to try and take a real big swing eventually (like say if Boston regresses, maybe Pastranak wants out at the deadline).

If you keep spending on the Mikeyehev's and Frederics of the world you are always going to be capped out and locked out of getting anyone really good.

4 mill would be great for Mikheyev , but I’m guessing higher
