Why waste 2nd+3rd + cap space on Debrusk when you can get a better fit via free agency. 4.25 on Mikheyev just to play on 3rd line is also poor management.

I think that team could surprise with how thoroughly they control games, it is the best set of wingers in this era plus the best constructed checking line. I would trust all four lines to execute a fast, aggressive forecheck and that is what has powered Carolina and Florida. No need to hide anyone plus so many of those guys can play other sides/wings that it gives Babcock plenty of options.

Huh? It's the opposite of that. That's exactly what Dubas did to Bowman, raked him over the coals.
Nurse is more useful than Jarry but this would be the Flyers taking on the Oilers bad contract by giving up an expiring contract. How could Oilers fans not be completely on board with that trade?
If the Oilers trade Nurse for Ristolainen straight up, you take that and run FAST.

If it's Michkov for Nurse, you do it even if it doesn't work out. We get out of Nurse contract and we can always flip Michkov

I don't think so, I think they'd still be good, Jarry would absolutely fail and they probably aren't talented enough on the blueline and overall to do much.
 
Why can’t we run Stasney/Leppanen as the LD3? Would rather spend money on a forward.

I mean were in trouble if Ekholm regresses but we probably are anyway

That's the rub right, the risk you take, though maybe they can get a vet relatively cheap.
