Not really, he's a UFA 70pts RHD, that's what that will get you.Holy overpay..

and rumour is he nixed a trade to a Western Conference team. Return will be now pennies on the dollar. Starting to wonder about this new upper management team in Toronto.Morgan Reilly just lost all his PP time
It's been an issue since 1967.and rumour is he nixed a trade to a Western Conference team. Return will be now pennies on the dollar. Starting to wonder about this new upper management team in Toronto.
Leafs are stuck in an awkward spot where they need to take risks. They cant rebuild because their next 2 1sts are unprotected and gone.
Theres still a lot of concerns for that roster. You cant expect a big rookie season from McKenna. Your 1C is often injured. Your 2C is more of a 3C at this point in his career.
I expect they'll go hard after Jenner and Tuch

There was no way a player with not even a whole lot of AHL-experience was going to get anything but a two-way deal.Ungar's new one year deal is a good one for the club. It's also a 2 way contract which is an added bonus?
Question though--if he gets cut after training camp, is he waiver eligible or not?
Morgan Reilly just lost all his PP time
Reports were that Tampa was offering $5M. I guess they did not have a good feel for what the player actually brings to the table.Holy overpay..

Paying guys at 30 based off 1 good season is exactly how you get contracts you regret. Not really, he's a UFA 70pts RHD, that's what that will get you.
Yeah exactly. I think Walman is a good comparable and he's better than Walman albeit a little older. Not really, he's a UFA 70pts RHD, that's what that will get you.
Walmans contract is a prime example why you don’t do what they just did. It looks like a disaster already.Yeah exactly. I think Walman is a good comparable and he's better than Walman albeit a little older.
I'd love to poke fun at the Leafs but I don't think this is a bad risk for them.
But when you are dealing with GM Stan, assume nothing. There was no way a player with not even a whole lot of AHL-experience was going to get anything but a two-way deal.
Ungar has at least another two years of waiver exemption left, unless he plays 60 NHL games prior to that.
I still think a healthy Walman can help us.Walmans contract is a prime example why you don’t do what they just did. It looks like a disaster already.
Based of 1 season? Hell be lucky to put up 50 pts again and at 30 its about to go down hill for the majority of that contractYeah exactly. I think Walman is a good comparable and he's better than Walman albeit a little older.
I'd love to poke fun at the Leafs but I don't think this is a bad risk for them.
It usually seems that Gms in the NHL are oblivious to previous examples and other teams mistakes.I’m not sure about the contract but the Leafs needed to upgrade their defense and there’s not a lot available d wise.
They got one of the better options but I don’t think this contract is going to age well.
They definitely put the I in Incompetent. Chayka already had some baggage from his previous GM stint in Arizona and Toronto still hires him. Not sure if Hillier was the right hire either. But wtf do I know, I'm just an armchair GM trying to get hired by the Oilers and they wont even hire me. Go figureIt's been an issue since 1967.
Haha-- that's alright, every one of us on these threads are armchair GMs---its just that the pay is quite a bit less than the real thing. They definitely put the I in Incompetent. But wtf do I know, I'm just an armchair GM trying to get hired by the Oilers and they wont even hire me. Go figure
That's why Stan needs to be patient with Nurse. Murphy maybe asking already who am I playing with if you are trading Nurse. With Carlson, Gudas, and Trouba all possibly not returning to the Ducks you worry they will make an offer on Connor Murphy.
If we can't retain he we might run with a defense worse than anything we've iced for a number of seasons.
Why trade assets for an established starter when we can continue to pay assets for starters on a downward trend and hope our lack of defensive systems will hide it!No to Binnington.
The Walman contract is also dog shit so that’s not really saying anything. So much hate for Raddysh haha. That's a good deal. I'd take that deal over Walman
