Rumor: Rumors & Proposals Thread: “I’d buy that for a dollar!!!” Edition

Vinny was drafted 8 years ago. People need to chill with this drafted 4 years ago thing. Lots of our prospects are already knocking on doors. If we weren't contenders, they would be playing full time.
True contenders have prospects playing full-time and making meaningful contributions to cup runs

so we'll have "not even a 7th dman" in Broberg in our starting roster next year? wonderful news and a fickle Holloway?

gives them 8 months to get ready when the last 5 haven't been enough
Well it is what it is. We have limited space. Kulak might end as a cap casualty and Broberg comes in and take his spot. Broberg will be fine as a #6. We forget Kulak is #5 Dman.

No, teams who's kids are ready to make those contributions have them making those contributions, not assuming or expecting they will.

I don't remember what "kids" the Knights had, maybe Hague, but he was 24.

Toffoli seems to be back on the market and would be a much better fit than Eberle.

McLeod + pick?
He fits more easily, that's a idiotic trade.

You know how incredibly rare it is to make the NHL as a legit player 8 years past your draft right?

I looked it up a long time ago. USually for first round draft picks if they aren't full time NHLers in what would be Brobergs current year, almost none of them have been more than AHL tweeners, bottom pairing defense.
Isn't Calgary gushing over a non-drafted guy that would've been drafted like 8 years ago if he actually was picked?

If we are done this TDL is like C+/B- at best IMO. Henrique is awesome but we are losing the arms race significantly.

He gets only two grades. F or A. All in means all in. So if you are just playing around the edges then you have failed at your job.

Whatever happen to green bananas?

I don't have issues with any of our moves in a vacuum, but with Vegas, Colorado, Dallas and other WC teams all bolstering their lineups (signifcantly, in some cases), it just doesn't sit right with me that this is how Holland wants to bow out.

If you ship off Brown you can still get Eberle at 75% retained. Even easier if you could somehow swap Ceci for Carrier, which I'm still (probably naively) holding out hope for.

Here is the thing about 7th d and 13/14th forwards. You need them to be vets who are used to the only playing once in a while. Its really difficult to just jump in after weeks of not playing and not look like fools. Its a learned skill and young players and prospects don't have that. A guy like Stetcher is used to that. Like you don't want Broberg as your 7th d cause after the first injury you have a guy who hasn't played in like a month having to be game ready. Much better to keep that young guy in the AHL so he is playing constantly before being needed.

And again, I think nothing of Broberg.
Gagner is a perfect example of that. Guy can step in at anytime and doesn't really look out of place. He is game ready whether he is playing every night or every 5 or 6 games

Henrique is not playing around the edges. I mean they traded their most valuable asset for him.

So trade Holloway Broberg and Desharnais for more rentals?
