They said they're looking for a physical gritty forward. A lot of the names being thrown around this thread don't fit that criteria.

This era of being asset depleted and not good reminds me of when the Kings went bargain shopping for names like Kris Versteeg

Saw the reports that Jared McCann might be available from Seattle - could be an interesting target.

Not a right shot but a very good scorer who can play both C and LW. 28 years old and signed for 2 more seasons at a very reasonable $5m cap hit.

McCann - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Byfield - Laferriere

Then if he doesn't fit with Kopi and Kempe you could swap him and Byfield potentially because he has that ability to play center too.

Not sure what the price would be but at least he wouldn't be a rental and he's a proven top 6 goal scorer.

It would probably cost us a 1st + Greentree.

That's a lot to give up for a team that probably has no chance of contending.
