I don't understand why Nashville would trade Carrier after winning 8 straight and hanging on to a playoff spot at the moment. They already took Saros off the market.

After a crazy day yesterday... the market is so quiet today lol

Markets quiet cause a lot of teams play today.
They keep Saros for the team but they apparently have some AHL guys they want ice time for and they may not resign Carrier. So kind of like Philly

Drai-Ebs on the same line wasn't very good the last time around. I know we are going all in but I would still prefer adding a project like Kakko over Eberle for Draisaitls wing assuming cost is about the same.

The argument would be that they can't get a deal done and would rather salvage an asset than keep a rental player for a playoff run that they don't feel is really going anywhere.

But I agree that Carrier moving seems like a real stretch.

If they can't get a deal done, then Ceci going back makes more sense too.

No, Eberle is just a better player and that was nearly a decade ago. Both players are different and better.

To be fair it wasn’t tried very much at all. That season both McDavid and Angie were his primary partners until the playoffs where he disappeared and was sent to the fourth line. I would rather the devil we know who has been money in the playoffs since he left than taking a swing at Kakko who has struggled mightily since being drafted.

Generally speaking it’s not great to have a sub 6’ defender in the playoffs but Carrier is smart in the way he defends. Obviously not on the same level but very much in the mold of guys like Makar and Spurgeon who use their feet and smarts and a good stick to make up for a lack of size and strength.

I can't find the tweet, but it was speculated that they're very high on one of their D-men in the AHL.

Because they know they aren’t going to go far and apparently are super far apart on a contract extension. So like Philly did with Walker, get some assets. Both teams are building for the future and playoffs this year is just a bonus.

I don't think so, I think Bouchard and Nurse could work, but Ekholm/Bouchard is one of the best pairs in the league, and it's clear Nurse needs a partner.

I think it was Friedman that was saying that they have an NHL ready RHD they want to give some games to, and they aren't moving Josi or Fabbro.

If they don't add a top 4 dman and get get another forward this team is hopeless.

Our weakness is not up front it is Cody ceci playing 20+ minutes a night top pairing in playoff hockey.
