Oh goodie so what, we're going to keep Desharnais out of the lineup for how long exactly? A flu doesn't last a week+.

Is good to actually see Holloway go down I think. I dont like the way hes been handled this year.

Its pretty lame though that VD is getting sent down.

It might not be a big deal really but it is frustrating that Holland cant get this figured out. But it could turn into a big deal. Rumours of guys being sick and whatnot. Good chance that we play with an undermanned roster at some point if Holland doesnt get this resolved soon.

I'm not getting the hate here.

We know that some players stall the market. Meier up front and Chychrun on the back-end are holding up any moves that teams might make until one/both of them is/are traded.

If Puljujarvi really can be moved as part of a deadline add, and that deadline add won't become apparent for another few days, why trade him now?

It just feels like people are getting impatient for any move to happen rather than waiting for the best move.

I'll trust Holland's judgement and reports that it's a buyers market probably means waiting longer will result in better outcomes.

This is just temporary.

I think there’s a good chance this team goes on a shit spiral if they play undermanned for a long period of time. Having no roster flexibility with an imperfect lineup in today’s NHL is a death sentence

This is the "interesting" thing.

Qu'elle surprise.

I think Holland knows someone might take a flyer on Puljujarvi on waivers and might want to control the destination somewhat, perhaps outside the division. Yamamoto better come in firing with the decision to farm Holloway and Desharnais (who's sickness probably helped to facilitate this).

You might wanna have your best actual defenceman at defending in the lineup against Colorado on Sunday.

Just sayin'.
Why would you want to do something crazy like that???!!! :)

Someone fire up a go fund me for a Fire Holland billboard

Mouthbreathing dolt. Literally our best def d man right now. We were garbage without him.

I hate how much I love this team…

That Duncan Keith cap dump you refer to got the oilers to the WCF for the first time in almost 20 years. AA would have been qualified if the cap hadn’t become flat when the world stopped. The cap was set to go up almost 10 million dollars the following year or is that something you forgot? The 10 million would have meant a longer term deal for Nurse around 6-7 million. NJ,CHI and CBS set the new market value for top pairing d men that summer not Holland. He was forced to pay market value or let Darnell walk. Imagine our blue line without nurse for a second please. Campbell I will give you as he is far too streaky to justify his dollars but Skinners deal evens it out a bit more.

He added Hyman absolute beauty.
He signed Nuge to an absolute sweetheart deal.
He somehow found a way to keep Kane and ditch Kassian.
The oilers have been a perennial playoff team since he arrived .

The good far outweighs the bad IMO
Duncan Keith was not the reason we got to the WCF, the pair of 2PPG centers were, and actually was a large reason we lost 2 of the games vs LA. Only game where he was a driving force of a win was that 2nd game vs Calgary which was the more lopsided of the two series. As for the flat cap, every team and GM had to deal with that. That's why there's been so many of these good cheap RFAs that weren't qualified in recent years across the board like Dylan Strome. If AA came in and played at the level of a good 2nd line winger he would've been qualified even with the flat cap and we would've made budget cuts elsewhere to make him fit, but he came in and played horribly. As for Nurse, the entire thing could've been avoided if we just didn't bridge him straight to UFA and gave him a long term deal at the end of 2020 like he originally wanted, but instead we just had to hand Kassian that 3.2 mil.

Hyman I'll eat crow on. I thought he'd be a 5.5 million dollar value player the first 3 or 4 years and then a millstone at the end, but this year he's playing like an 8 million dollar value player which can make up for the likely fall off towards the end. Kane was a good pickup but it was a once in a lifetime gift that involved Kane forging a vaccine card+his ex wife going off the deep end. Ditching Kassian wouldn't have been necessary if we just didn't extend him to that albatross in the first place.

How long exactly are we going to keep our best defenceman out of the lineup so that this Puljujarvi saga can continue?

If Holland's solution is to just keep Desharnais in the AHL until the trade deadline by which time he'll finally get off his ass and make a move on Puljujarvi ... this doofus has lost the plot.

Do your f***ing job for once in a timely fashion, tired of every damn thing having to be stretched out a month longer than necessary (ie: Tippett firing) because this GM is so damn gun shy about decision making.

Well hopefully just a game while he recovers from illness

And who comes out of the lineup then exactly?
